Scott Baio says he's set to become the latest celebrity to escape from California as he's placed his $3.85million home on the market, citing the state's disastrous homelessness and crime issues.
The former Happy Days star put his home in Woodland Hills on the market last month, having purchased it for just $1.85million in 2010.
On Twitter, the conservative-leaning sitcom star said that he just doesn't feel secure in the Golden State anymore given the various issues under Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom.
'After 45 years, I'm making my way to finally 'exit stage right' from California,' he wrote.
He then cited the state's homelessness statistics, noting that 'it brings down property value. Also no consequences for crime that is rampant, making things higher in price and it’s just not a safe place anymore.'
The Joanie Loves Chachi star tacked on the hashtag '#ImFree."
Baio also joked that Californians won't miss his right wing views. The actor has been a guest of President Trump's White House in the past.
The actor lives in a gated community called Westchester County Estates, according to Realtor.com.
A 6,300-square foot property containing five bedrooms and 4.5 baths, it also contains a big ceiling, stone floors, a curved staircase, a great room, dining room and home office.
The outside includes a pool, spa, and loads of plantings and a no-build zone behind it.
Los Angeles' wealthiest residents are fleeing the city as Governor Gavin Newsom hikes taxes on the rich and the city crumbles under soaring crime rates - with actor Jim Carrey the latest A-lister to list his home for sale.

Fonzie (Henry Winkler) is staying in California as far as I know. He is supposed to be a nice guy, but quite lefty. Scott is one of the few open non-lefties in show business.
He’s not really helping the asking price....
Regards,
A “mansion”? Not in CA for $4 milion. In many towns, that buys you a quarter acre lot with a post-war ranch house in need of updating or demolition.
More of the Angeleno New York wannabe complex.
Back in the 90s, I was Scott’s stand in on DIAGNOSIS MURDER. He was a different dude back then. I hooked up with him for a full on air segment when he guest hosted on the Dennis Miller Radio Show. He’s grown a lot. Anyway, he bought that gorgeous Montecito mansion for $1.9 million (if I remember correctly) and is still trying to get $3.85 million(?). It is stunning and he was smart to not buy into Beverly Hills. Anything above $6 million is a bear to sell these days.
In usual Freeper tradition, I didn’t read the article until after I posted. Glad my memory is still in tact.
He’s probably still taking a cut to offload it.
Didn’t he say stage right?
Baio has always been on the conservative side of the hollywood spectrum so this isn’t such a huge surprise to hear.
I would much rather hear some good news that some typical hollywood lefty actor/actress or their loved ones/friends gets attacked/raped/beaten by some illegal vagrant in broad daylight in beverly hills.
LA is not a safe and happy place anymore, so what do the citizens do in response? Why they just elect another incompetent, irresponsible black democrat idiot as their new mayor. We all know they always do such a great job.
That’ll fix everything, right?
That’s house left not stage left. In other words stage right.
Regard this,
As a former Southern Californian, the places that ended in “hills” (woodland, agoura, Beverly) were usually pretty nice. They would be the small islands of wealth in the sewage spew that was the rest of non-San Diego and non-Orange County Southern California. It really is the perfect example of progressive communism - a spoiled small delusional elite that wall themselves off from the dystopia consequences of their policies.
leaving because of ‘rampant crime’??
Not a good sales technique Scott.
It should be more like “beautiful vistas surround this lovely 6 room mansion...[etc]”
Doesn’t seem wise to trash the neighborhood you’re trying to sell a house in..... Might have been better to wait until the house is sold.
And, I think Scott has paid for it — his filmography over the past 20 years is as dry as a desert.
So much for “being tolerant of other peoples’ views”
Your point is well taken, but it clearly states he’s lived in it many years……so yeah I believe the original price
…..but it wouldn’t reflect today’s prices…..ie he’s asking an exaggerated amount in selling
