The Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville takes center stage on Saturday afternoon.
The meeting has been overshadowed by an investigation into the death of four horses.
Then on Thursday, trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. was suspended indefinitely after the sudden death of two of his horses.
The event gets underway later on Friday but all eyes will be on the track at 6.57pm for the $3million race Saturday.
Here, DailyMail.com takes you through everything you need to know, including the favorites and the all important post positions - as well as how to watch the Kentucky Derby...

Pass the Mint Juleps, please.................
Okay, for fun: Kingsbarns (11:1) to win, Tapit Trice (5:1), and Reincarnate to show (17:1).
I need to know how to win.
“Pass the Mint Juleps, please.................”
Your constitution and taste buds must be stronger than mine! It’s a drink I avoid (yecch, but after a few, you don’t care)...and I live here. LOL
The best part is the opening bugler who makes all the snowflakes melt by playing "My Old Kentucky Home".
I don’t drink any more, since I drank enough in my youth to float a battleship.
So I’ll just have a Dr. Pepper with a sprig of mint..................
Lewis-ville, home of horse racing, baseball bats, The Speed Gallery (which has nothing to do with speed), Modjeskas candies, Henry Bain sauce, the Hot Brown, the Moby Dick fish sandwich (with extra tartar sauce & a defibrilator, thank you), and the final resting place of Colonel Harland Sanders.
And it’s just down the road a piece from the Bullion Depository and the Patton Museum at Ft Knox.
No road trip would be complete without it.
I think one of the keys to life is to do things when you can and not when you shouldn’t.
Tapit Trice has a lot of angles for me.

Harry Scott’s father trained Man O War and was one of the original 19 members of The Thoroughbred Club. May he rest in peace.
I’ve heard that there is an entire day of racing that day at Churchill Downs, but it’s just that the Kentucky Derby is the last race of the day.
But probably only the gamblers care about those other races.
Not as much as the owners! (+ breeders + trainers!)
“Pass the Mint Juleps, please...”
Tomorrow at Mathews house... big screen, knosh & Mint Juleps. I’m bringin’ the Monte Cristo 5’s, glad it’s walking distance.
My first pick, Practical Move, scratched. I’m going with Angel of Empire.
