Black mothers are the canaries in the coal mine when it comes to the mental and physical harms of stress from living with gun violence in America.
In the U.S., Black people are likelier than white people to reside in impoverished, racially segregated communities with high levels of gun violence. Research has suggested that living in violent and unsafe environments can result in continuous traumatic stress, a constant form of PTSD. Researchers have also linked experiences of violence and poverty to an increased risk of chronic disease such as cancer and cardiovascular, respiratory and neurodegenerative diseases.
We are Black women and public policy and sociology professors who study health inequities and sustainable policy solutions. Our research has found that Black mothers who feel trapped in neighborhoods they perceived as unsafe because of high levels of community violence are more likely to report elevated PTSD and depression symptoms, as well as elevated stress hormone levels.
The trauma of gun violence and systemic racism isn’t simply a Black mother’s story – it’s an American story.

Its those damned guns. Not the fact that “Defund the Police” has taken police forces out of poor black neighborhoods. Guess what else stresses out black mothers? Being raped on the way home. Stepping over some heroin addict who is nodding out on her front steps. Being hit with a brick by some insane homeless person who has a “right” to live on the streets and a “right” to not take his meds. None of that has anything to do with gun violence. But the media thinks it has the answer to defend Dems against their insanely Soft on Crime policies - turn every crime story into a “gun violence” story.
Well it’s those “black mothers” who are doing all the shooting. You Dung Beetles should have never released them all from prison and put them back on our streets. You should have known better. All the blood shed during Bidenskyyy’s “mass shooting” extravaganza is on the hands of Bidenskyyy and his Dung Beetles. It wasn’t like this when President Trump was in the White House.
It’s the black sons of those black mothers who are committing the vast majority of the “gun crimes” in their neighborhoods. They should stop churning out so many kids just to get increased welfare benefits.
And it will. Safer for the criminals, derelicts and political class, anyway. But I repeat myself.
Both political parties constantly preach how great women are, and how they should lead us. If one wants to see how that becomes a peaceful utopia, just look at the black community. It is led by women and young thugs.
Trapped? Surely they meant held back and oppressed and in poverty by MAGA/MS-13 white folkx right?

BOLD AS BRASS WALKS INTO NEWS STATION IN MEMPHIS, TN. 1 SHOT FIRED. HEAVILY ARMED 1, HANDGUN? ANOTHER MENTAL CASE.
Nathan first approached a FOX13 employee outside of the gate wanting to talk. The suspect then showed the FOX13 employee that he had a gun.
The FOX13 employee then ended the conversation and left before Nathan went to the front of the building and fired a single shot.
His mother went on to say that Nathan has been going to Lakeside, a mental health treatment center in Shelby County, since he was 16 years old.

Black women could greatly improve their circumstances by following a few simple steps:
1. Don’t have children outside marriage to a stable man with a decent job.
2. Study hard in school, finish high school.
3. Don’t have children outside marriage to a stable man with a decent job.
4. Get a job. Work hard at doing the best you can for your employer.
5. Don’t have children outside marriage to a stable man with a decent job.
6. Go to community college and learn a skill.
7. Don’t have children outside marriage to a stable man with a decent job.
8. Find a good, honest, stable man, get married, and do your best to keep him happy enough to stay with you.

Black mothers do not seem to be able to vote for the type of politicians that will crack down on crime though. Black women as a demographic vote overwhelmingly for Democrats and a long history of evidence has demonstrated that Democrats absolutely suck at maintaining law and order in areas that they control, namely just about every urban area in the US.
