“Write it. Shoot it. Publish it. Crochet it, Sauté it, whatever. MAKE.” ~ Joss Whedon
The Monthly Create, Make and Share Thread is a monthly gathering of people that love to create and make. From yarn (crochet, knitting), fabric (sewing, quilting), threads (embroidery, weaving), wood crafts, ceramics, artwork and anything else you create and would like to share, this is the place to do it. Sharing something you’ve created and/or made is pure joy...and we need joy in our lives!
From complete Newbies that are looking to start that first project, to experienced artists, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions or would like advice, there’s probably someone on the thread who would be able to help.
It is impossible to hijack the Monthly Create, Make and Share Thread. Knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, weaving, general crafting, art, wood working, patterns, articles on any of these topics, or even your own writing. There is no telling where it will go, and that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us! Send a Private Message to Diana in Wisconsin if you’d like to be added to our Ping List.
NOTE: This is a once a Month Ping List. We DO post to the thread during the month. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to other Create, Make and Share fans are welcomed any time.
Pretty!
I’m tempted to take up cross-stitch again...
That kitty looks just like one of mine, and is something he would absolutely do!
Here's her bowl she won a $250 award for.
And this is a game table and stools she made for a lady. Her instructor fussed about her using her spare time to do a commission piece and she asked why it was acceptable to work an outside job as a burger flipper but not to make a piece of furniture for pay.
Thanks for taking the time to re-post!
Such talent! She’s on the right track. It’s wonderful when your passion, skills and a paycheck all fall together. :)
Just ran across this, a free download crochet pattern. For any Shaun the Sheep fans...

The designer did a great job!
I am in love with anything ‘Outlander’ ... book series, TV series, and especially the knit (and crochet) items on the “Handy Little Me” website.
Louise Bollanos (the designer) had a post the other day about dressing like your favorite Outlander character. Ok, so I’m ‘in love’, but not to the point of dressing up, other than the fingerless mittens, arm warmers & shawls I love so much. Louise has great knit/crochet patterns - easy to follow, at least I haven’t had an issues with them.
The post has links to knit/crochet items in the Outlander style AND she also has links to sewing patterns for clothing. Here’s the article link:

I have a bowl cozy that someone at church made - she sews them. I use it ALL the time. Since I don’t sew (inherited my aunt’s very ‘fancy’ machine ... haven’t figured it out yet), I can now crochet some cozies with this pattern!
When the holidays come around, I’m always looking for good ideas to make for presents ... this cozy fits the bill.
Quick Microwave Bowl Cozy Crochet Pattern

Thank you! Just tonight I was taking something from the micro and NEEDED hot pads to even hold it. This is perfect! :)
It would be GORGEOUS coupled with a ‘found’ hand-crafted bowl as a gift.
*Wheels Turning* LOL! ;)

++++++++++++++++++++++
What a great idea!! I’ll have to keep an eye out for bowls!
I have a lot of cotton yarn in my stash ... looking for small items that I can price inexpensively to make from stash yarn for the Fall yard sale & I think the cozies would work. I sold all the potholders on my table last fall - only had a couple. Some guy bought them for his wife. The cozies are just SO practical .... I could display them with a bowl or two so folks get the idea.
There’s a local fundraiser for what, I forget - but local potters donate hand-crafted soup bowls.
You buy the bowl and get a ‘free’ Soup & Artisan Bread lunch for your purchase/donation.
Neat concept.
Now I’m hungry for soup! It’s going to rain all day, so maybe I’ll whip up a pot. :)
Some interesting design I’ve not seen before in this post:

Lacy Farmhouse-Style Plastic Bag Saver - Free Crochet Pattern
https://kirstenhollowaydesigns.com/2023/05/lacy-farmhouse-bag-saver-holder-free-crochet-pattern.html
This is a Kirsten Holloway design .... her stuff is always really pretty .... even plastic bag savers!
If your state no longer allows plastic bags, she has a “Water Bottle Modification” at the end of the pattern.
I like that ‘Linen Stitch’ and use that a lot. Also called ‘Moss Stitch’ and a few other things...that’s the stitch on the washcloths I sent you.
That ‘Chevron Stitch’ looks fun - haven’t done one of those in a long time. :)
Hobby Lobby, Michael's and Joanne all need to step up their game!
