Tuesday Morning announces this on a Tuesday morning. Sounds like it’s intended to be a cruel joke.

Went there a few times. Substandard cheap junk, dim lighting, crowded aisles

Tuesday Morning had a national prohibition on guns in their stores. That would be CCW and open carry because illegal criminals would probably not be charged for having an illegal gun. I give this a #10 Ha-Ha's.

None of those in these parts, except once per week. 😂 More seriously, 2023 is going to be a terrible year for brick and mortar retail. I keep seeing reports that twenty plus large retailers will go bankrupt and close many if not all of their stores. Tuesday Morning has been in several of those reports. This will only exacerbate the commercial real estate situation and impact dozens of already technically insolvent banks.

The demise of Tuesday Morning comes amid a massive shakeup...

Now we'll have to wait for Tuesday afternoon.

And nothing about the wreckage from Biden canceling planned natural gas development and usage, will affect the “MIT” genius climate change club at the NBER. (www.nber.org)

This will become a national trend under Biden. Next step: anything to do with lawnmowers and small gas engines will disappear around 2040 when no gas engine driven lawnmowers are allowed to operate. Then comes our defense industry when we will have to produce electrically driven tanks. Wait for the CCP to invade US with their gas driven tanks riding roughshod over ours. Wait for electric motor driven air planes. America is on a suicidal path. By that time there will be an army of jobless and homeless men and women pitching their tents on every sidewalk, occupied by migrants that are now invading us. Sorry to sound so downcast on this Tuesday afternoon. Just hope that our farm and food industry will be allowed to continue using fossil fuels or be prepared to go veeery hungryand freezing in winter and burning up in summer. Don’t worry about the American dream. What dream? What America?

Soon we’ll be like cells in a plant or animal: delivery vehicles and garbage trucks are our blood stream, the internet is our nervous system.

Stores that depend on odd lot merchandise are having a harder time getting enough saleable merchandise as Amazon now finely tunes retail merchandise purchases and sales.

Retailers enjoyed decades of glut; plenty of stores with plenty of space amidst an almost captive market.

Online offerings, more than prices, put pressure on them to step up their level of service and offerings and they failed because they're not built on that model.

I've worked in corporate headquarters and it was shocking how dismal their systems were. For example, we'd ask a basic question about linked items; "Since we don't want to bother carrying product A if we also don't have product B, because most customers buy them together, can we link items in the system and flag when our in-stock rates will deviate from the ratio we want?"

We'd get blank stares at first and then after a whole bunch of meetings explaining it, you would have thought we were asking them to program a satellite launch for a Mars mission.

These companies aren't going out of business just because of an economic downturn, they're also going out of business because they were unwilling or unable to invest in serious tools and staff to support their customers. Their business model was never built on it.
