A few years ago there was a "married" couple, deaf lesbians, who wanted to deafen their adopted children, surgically, and sued the doctors when they refused.

Of course, this was back when the medical profession swore to "do no harm." Now?

There is a mental illness where folks believe a part of their body (an arm or leg usually) doesn’t belong to them.

A doctor in England years ago (6?) had two patients that he cut off one arm from. The medical community got together and decided that wasn’t a good surgery and put a stop to it. The doctor was not fined or forced to quit.

To continue the Seinfeld theme, I wonder if the doctor said “Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?”

Actually, the doctor was full of remorse that he was no longer allowed to give his patients (he had 2 or 3 more waiting for surgery) the care which they so desperately needed.
