Working from home may have meant having fun at home in 2021, which saw a US baby boomlet that was the first big reversal of declining birth rates since 2007, a new working paper by economists finds.
This “baby bump” was among US-born women as opposed to foreign-born women and “was most pronounced for first births and women under age 25, which suggests the pandemic led some women to start their families earlier,” say the researchers from Princeton, Northwestern, and UCLA. “Above age 25, the baby bump was also pronounced for women ages 30-34 and women with a college education, who were more likely to benefit from working from home.”

It can’t be sustained, as long as politicians keep driving up the debt that requires increased taxation to pay the interest and the liberal demands social programs.

The silver lining of the lockdown was the extra time families had together. Not just husbands and wives, but the young people who stayed home from college had more time under their parents’ roof, with their guidance and habits.
In 12 years, we will have Quaranteens.
True, but the Frontline workers and foreign born who normally get all the benefits weren’t the story here, the U.S. born workers who would normally have to deal with the mountain of paperwork and daycare that could go poof were the ones having babies, finally. The work from home, at least sometimes, thing clearly helps.
Well played.
Generation Q?
Not so sure I like how that sounds.
We’ve had eight babies born since August at the church I attend. 3 were first born, 3 were the 5th or higher, with one number 8 due in September. This is a traditional Catholic church which is growing among young people.
Lol!
That is wonderful news :D
“This is good news...”
Except that most of those babies had parent(s) that got jabbed.
Now their children are defective because of it.

The boomlet started under Trump’s presidency, all of a sudden “all the wrong people” started having babies, and the Left panicked. Add to that the fact that parents began paying more attention to their kids schoolwork, and you have a five alarm fire for the Left.
I think the real “quaranteens” are the poor kids who missed their proms, homecomings, and graduations because their parents’ generation was too cowardly to stand up to the school boards and teachers’ unions.
Post-Covid a lot more people are still working from home. That makes having kids vastly easier when both parents are working.
If the work from home trend continues it may well lead to a permanent increase in the birth rate.
You think COVID quarantines will be over in 12 years?
