The Jets landed their man … finally.
After weeks of speculation, Aaron Rodgers is now the Jets quarterback.
The Jets and Packers agreed to a trade Monday, a source confirmed, exactly 40 days after Rodgers publicly declared his desire to come to New York.
The deal has a lot of moving parts and we won’t know who truly “won” the deal until we see how well and how long Rodgers plays for the Jets.
The trade includes a swap of first-round picks in this year’s draft. The Packers will now pick 13th overall on Thursday night and the Jets will move to 15th.
The Jets are also sending Green Bay a second-round pick (No. 42 overall) and a sixth-round pick (No. 207 overall) in this year’s draft as well as a 2024 conditional pick that will be a first-round pick if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays for the Jets in 2023 or a second-round pick if he does not.

Fool them once (that was when the Packer's traded Burp to the Jets which ended in disaster) shame on them... Fool them twice... And you have the NY Jets.
Woody Johnson is a fools fool.
If I weren't an 'Everything Boston' fan, I would feel for the Jets fans... As it is... They and Woody got what they deserve... Enjoy your nightmare...

Jets are ‘overrated’?
By whom?..................................
Why did you alter the headline?
Well, as a Cowboys fan I was always terrified of playing him. Can’t tell you how many times he beat us with less than a minute on the clock. I don’t think he’s overrated at all.
However, he is very much in the Joe Montana/Brett Favre category of being on the decline during his trade.
Often these trades reveal the other key elements of a team that go unnoticed, usually WRs and/or OLs. Suddenly, these star QBs don’t have the OL they had in their previous residence. But if I could trade Dak Prescott for Rodgers right now, I would-—but probably only get 2 years out of him.
You have some weird hatred here for Rodgers. I don’t really care about him because I am a Steelers fan. Objectively though, he has been one of the Packer’s best QBs ever. That isn’t even in question. He’s probably washed up now, but I don’t understand your dislike for what he did in the past.
Good point. Something I have almost never heard...They are constantly trashed. I have never heard anyone “overrate” them.
I’m not a Rodgers or Packers fan, but overrated?! WTH are you talking about? The only reason the Packers have been competitive for this long is because of him. He may currently be in decline, but he’s been one of the best throughout his career.
Of course.
What is it with the Mets and Jets? They both have an affinity for old arms that are past their prime. Scherzer and Verlander on the Mets and now the very strange dude Rodgers on the Jets. This rarely works unless your name is Manning or Brady.
By everyone who predicts they’re going to win the Superbowl every year. LOL! Mister Farvray...pick up the white and green courtesy phone...attention...Mister Farvray...
Rodgers is a weird dude, but he’s from Chico, Cali, I believe so he has an excuse. If he’s smart he will become a master of disguise for when the Jets fans come gunning for him. They’re experts on buyer’s remorse!
Put Rodgers behind a solid front line and he will create havoc in the secondary................
Maybe by everyone who predicts they’re going to make it to the playoffs week 1.................
Theyve been terrible. Im a Pats fan and the Jets for some odd reason were always a “rival” game despite the Pats absolutely destroying them over the last 20 years. I know they have a young decent roster and lets be honest Rodgers is still a top Qb and the Jets got a bargain for him...I wish the Pats did the deal. He had a rough go last year but 2021 was a solid performance. He better than the alternative.
Career 103 Qb rating...over rated lol.
When you’re a Jet, you’re a Jet all the way
From your first down and ten to your last football play,
When you’re a Jet, intercepts all around,
Aaron Rodgers is yours, let the losses abound...
This is a short-term (and in my opinion bad) gamble by the Jets, whose present regime needs to show some winning, and soon.
Rodgers will be 40 years old in December. The Jets will need to design an offense around him, but they will be lucky if he stays for two seasons. Then they will be starting again from scratch.
Everyone will say “but Tom Brady did it!” And they will be wrong.
By whom? By 1969... Most of you weren’t even born yet. 46 years since they made a Super Bowl appearance.
Jeez... show us on the doll where the quarterback hurt you.
I do not consider Rodgers to be terribly overrated in terms of talent.
But, he always wants max $$$, is not aging as gently as Brady, and brings way too much unrelenting drama to the team.
I would rather have an above average QB who is good enough to win a Super Bowl, brings little drama, and wants to be paid, but not so much that there’s none left over for the supporting cast.
I’m a Rams fan, and Stafford brought that to us. We over-paid in $$$ for Goff, Allen Robinson and Gurley, and in picks for Jalen Ramsey and others, so we are hurting now. I hope we can at least get the man some o-line protection.
