You can debate civil service laws on firing, but Trump had full control over who was invited to meetings, put on air, and whose advice to follow.

There was nothing Trump could've done that wouldn't have gotten him crucified by the media.
He could've cured cancer and the New York Times would've cried that he put oncologists out of business.
Still, no excuse for not doing the right thing.
The end result was that Trump handed the country over to Dr. Fauci who took control and allowed his once juggernaut economy to collapse. Sure, had he done nothing, the media would've blamed him for every dead 90-year old but still, Covid would've run it's course to very little affect for the vast majority of us who experienced it as little more than a cold.

Exactly...and those who “opened up” did so with the consultation of their “experts” on staff. The idea that if those experts said, if you open up 2 million people will die they would have ignored them is laughable.
