Muslims finally prevailed in the West, not by force of arms, but because Christians lost — including themselves.
In his well-known history of Western civilization, Edward Gibbon (1737–1794) offered an interesting "what if" scenario concerning the pivotal Battle of Tours (732 A.D.). Then and there, a massive Muslim army — which had terrorized, slaughtered, and enslaved every Christian in its path — was finally halted and defeated by the Franks in the middle of France.
Had the Muslims actually won, Gibbon predicted that
[p]erhaps the interpretation of the Koran would now be taught in the schools of Oxford, and her pulpits might demonstrate to a circumcised people [meaning Brits would now be Muslim] the sanctity and truth of the revelation of Muhammad.
Today, of course, not only is the "revelation of Muhammad" being taught and honored at Oxford, but Christianity is increasingly being canceled for its sake. Most recently,
[a] decision by an Oxford university college not to celebrate St George's Day with a formal dinner has been branded 'barking mad.' Magdalen College has decided against continuing an annual pre-pandemic banquet celebrating the English saint that drew together Oxford students, dons and fellows. Instead, the only occasion the college will observe on the day is Eid al-Fitr, the Islamic festival marking the end of Ramadan. The college will hold a formal dinner marking Eid on April 23, honouring a request made by its Muslim students. An email from college vice president Professor Nick Stargardt ... outlines plans for a 'festive dinner' celebrating the occasion. The invitation, sent to hundreds of students and their lecturers, adds the meal will 'follow Muslim customs.' Cooks will prepare a halal meat dish with no alcohol served to diners.

Unfortunately, you are correct. If Christianity is seen as a weak, loser, declining religion, which increasingly it is, Islam will pick up the slack, not secularism.

I am a believing, practicing Christian. I regret the collapse of my religion in its historical homelands.

200 years ago the birth-rate of the most intelligent and brightest was 2x that of the dull and misfit. Today it’s exactly the opposite and has been for …5 or more generations. You even see a phenomenon around here where nice intelligent families forgo having their own kids and import a couple of babies from some third world nation.
I think it’s a brilliant theory, just go look at how few kids there are in a plush community like Sandestin, Miramar Beach Fl where the average home is probably 1.5 mill and everyone has businesses or degrees then go look at the swarms of kids in a downtown neighborhood or poor trailer park. Less intelligent people just buy into the nonsense the left spins more on average.

Islam is a kind of OT simile of Sinai, of forced bondage and punishments for those who would not accept nor stay with the yoke of Christ. Islam is corrupt though, unlike the Priestly order of Aaron via the aegis of Moses’s law. It appeals to the worst base instincts of men much to the detriment of women and children under its cloak. Things that men could get stoned for under OT law, Islam allows for, even the sexual abuse of young boys in some Muslim cultures. Fatwas provide work around the sticky dilemma’s where the pure application of the Mosaic law does not.
Islamists are not afraid to use force where-as Christians in this age hardly know how to deal with Christ’s admonition that his followers “buy swords” after his departure from the Earth. That is where the leftist seculars have us by the throats, there are times where we need to rise up and defend the culture even if it divides the nation. Now the seculars threaten and corrupt our very children when we need to go after them in force. Their numbers aren’t as large as what they make themselves out to be.

All I said was that the collapse of Christianity, now in progress, will lead to the death of secular hedonism and the rise of Islam in the West.

I was not arguing against your point, just stripping away the labels and positing what the real struggle is. Mount Sinai vs Mount Zion...(both are the same mountain really but Heaven and rest to those in Christ and Judgment and the lake of fire for those who reject Christ)
Islam has a Mount Sinai vibe, but it is not a “morally” superior religion in any way to the Mosaic law. Christianity in the west in 732 found enough vibrancy and the courage to bring force to push back on Islam. It’s been a series of backs and forths for the past 1300 years.
Islam is guilty of it’s own peculiar brands of hedonism that are religiously acceptable and are favorable to grown men(which would not be acceptable to the OT). It is not a morally superior religion but it may be being used as a lash by God to get lackadaisical Christians in line.
(The same way Habakkuk says that God raised up the Chaldeans as a lash to punish Israel)
Nukes are involved in our era and other weapons of nasty effect that weren’t in existence in 732. It won’t be that easy for the Islamists despite all the talk of their “inevitable” rise. I fear for much worse and the Beast will not be an Islamist but the voice of Satan himself!
I predict that those who follow the Islamic faith will walk away from that collision without a single injury. Those who are LBGT will not be so luck, they will sustain serious injuries if not death. Some of those deaths may actually involve the loss of one’s head.
It is worth noting that George W. Bush’s stupidity played a part here.
Awhile back I read an article written by an American who was living in Europe. He said that right after 9/11, locals were coming up to him an expressing their sympathy and support. “We’re all Americans now.”
That changed after Bush II invaded Iraq. All of the sudden Americans were the aggressors, and the poor Muslims were the injured party. Sympathy for the Muslims went up. “Welcome, refugees” and all that.
- That kind of thinking is stupid, and very short-sighted. But it is what it is.
