It's not as straightforward as "EVs don't get the mileage claimed," C&D blames EPA test procedures that don't reflect real-world driving conditions.

Sounds like grounds for a lawsuit. “You lie!”

Various sources say that EV’s are neither energy economical nor “environmentally friendly” (in terms of total carbon output) until sometime between their 8th-11th year of use.
And by that time, the vast majority will have been scrapped.

Say, any Freepers here live in or were in Connecticut yesterday? Were you anywhere near Groton around noon? I was!
What happened was a gas tanker (truck) was involved in an accident on a bridge and exploded and set buildings under it on fire, and the problem is Connecticut roads - at least around that area - are not built for emergencies, they are very few alternatives to major areas so as a result I was stuck in traffic for TEN HOURS!!! Yes, TEN HOURS, from about noon to about 10 at night until I was finally able to escape over the bridge at 2A.
Tell me: Would you feel confident sitting in an electric car for 10 hours?

EV’s might make sense if we were generating electricity via the new types of nuke generating platforms.
They are fun to drive, I drove a Ford Mach-E GT the other day and it was scary quick. Would I buy one? Nope.
This “green” stuff is BS brought to us by morons like AOC and Al Gore who simply are not smart enough to do anything but politics and figure out how to construct ways to fleece people with insane ideas. I’m super serial....

I got 30.50 mpg in a 22 year old Pontiac v6 at constant speeds over 75 mph over some 350 miles.

The energy consumption due to carrying the weight of the battery offsets many of the supposed advantages.

There are no advantages whatsoever. Not even in 'fuel' efficiency.

Big deadend for EV’s is the fact that the batteries have to be changed after 30k miles at a cost of $30k.

We have electric cars because the federal government subsidizes them. That is the only reason.

I don’t think they are that bad. I think they can last ten years and 250k if charged slowly. I have a friend with a Tesla with 150k 6 years old original battery. Nice car. I wouldn’t buy one. She thinks she is saving the planet. Nice lady but really full of youknowhat about the real world.
