Yes! Grandpa was in charge of us on the ferry from Manitowoc, WI to Luddington, MI. I seem to remember making that trip a number of times with my family through the years. My Mom’s favorite female cousin ended up in Salt St Marie, so I remember taking the ferry to see her, too.

Many years later, the ex and I would take our kids on, ‘The Badger’ when she had her first ‘cruise’ of the season, just up and down the coast of our side of Lake Michigan; to get the kinks out before she crossed open water. ;)

Our favorite Polka Band, ‘The Happy Schnaps Combo’ used to play and the food was excellent!

Good Times! Who has more FUN than Wisconsinites? Not many! :)

Glad you had that experience!

We never took the ferry. We drove everywhere, but then we lived in N Illinois and my parents did not care about tulips. They did go to Door county and lake Geneva and up to Langlade county and eventually moved to Wisconsin.
