Personally, I’ve also stopped all doggie vax...no more rabies shot.
Don’t even get me started on the “dog license” tag required by the county. It’s not a license. It’s a tax.
I agree; however, the rabies shot is required in order to attend a daycare or the groomers. There are a few vets who will refuse to see a pet without a current rabies shot. All other vaccines, hard pass, including “preventive heartworm medication”.
I just went through that and the rabies shots were very expensive. I think next year I’ll skip it all and if my unlicensed dogs are discovered, I’ll pay the fine rather than ruin the health of my dogs. They’re in no danger of getting rabies.
If you have to pay the government to possess property; (1) it is a tax, and (2) you don’t possess (own) it.
