California DA who floated keeping gang members accused of killing toddler out of jail faces recall backlash

Pamela Price, the progressive prosecutor of Alameda County, California, near San Francisco, is facing protests and a call for her recall amid a storm of criticism for her response to a family whose toddler was murdered in a suspected gang shooting on a public highway.

An informal Change.org petition demanding her recall has garnered more than 14,000 signatures. It takes issue with a handful of other cases in which the new left-wing district attorney has allegedly gone soft on criminals.

In one, her office offered a 15-year plea deal to a man accused of three murders.

"Once we get enough signatures we will start the formal recall process," the organizers wrote.

Price drew backlash last month after telling supporters of the Wu family, who lost their toddler son Jasper in a gang-related shootout on Interstate 880, that her office was looking into a way to punish the suspects without prison time.

When are these people going to get the message? There will always be backlash against such stupid decisions and yet, they persist! More recalls nationwide ought to do the job!!!!

I can of a way to punish the suspects without prison time — as well as making sure they never hurt anyone again.

That’s one I could approve of. Immediate execution without any jail time. Though I suspect that is what she intends.

24x7 strapped in a chair with headphones on, listening to Barny the purple dinosaur. That would do it!

“Pamela Price—Alameda County, California. One of the most recently elected Soros DAs, Pamela Price has actually been a devout progressive acolyte for many years. Price first ran for Alameda County DA back in 2018 and lost despite nearly $700,000 in support from Soros’s California Justice and Public Safety PAC. During that time, Price’s own PAC raised just $326,000. Price tried again and won in 2022, though it is unclear whether Soros directly aided her the second time around. Price has boasted about an endorsement by radical communist activist Angela Davis and told a crowd, “We have to defund police, defund prosecutors, and divest from prisons.”

In her first month in office, Price re-opened eight murder cases against Alameda county police officers, while offering a man charged with murdering three people in a shopping mall (by definition a mass shooting) an unusually soft plea deal, reducing the charges to one count of voluntary homicide and personal use of a gun. Price reportedly defended the decision by saying the killer “was just 18 then and is very sorry for his behavior.”

Alameda County?? We shall see if she is recalled. The county contains Oakland, Richmond, El Cerrito, Berkeley, San Leandro, and Hayward, all troubled cities in their own way, and who have elected the idiot Swalwell to Congress.

A late term abortion carried out by a third party and that of a ethnicity group that is hated for their existence.

Really. As sick as that seems, it's real.

Does a change.org petition have any legal weight in California? If not, what are the legal procedures to have a DA recalled?

San Fransisco recalled Chesa Boudin, so it’s at least possible. But difficult, for sure. In general recall laws are written to make it theoretically possible, but damn near impossible practically.
