I’ll believe nothing about either side having an upper hand. As far as I’ve seen it’s been a stalemate and quagmire for both sides since the entry of massive NATO weaponry into the fray. The only way to break the stalemate is rapid escalation of type weapons used or troops from NATO or China. That escalation would probably trigger WWIII. I stand by my prediction that this is merely a theater of a generational new Cold War.
This is total nonsense. Ukraine is winning the war. Why with the stuff I’ve been reading here on FR Putin is on his death bed, scared to death of Covid and a coup. The Russian military spend more time chasing draft dodgers than fighting the war. The Russian army is down to using Napolean war cannons and muskets. The Russian mercenaries spend more time raping little children and eating live kittens than they do fighting.
Sorry for the extensive sarcasm, but the propaganda people do really get very tiring.

There are not even clearly defined goal and objectives. Not even a discussion of what victory looks like. That is failed leadership and leads to an endless war. G.W. Bush was just as bad. When he talked of fighting terrorism, aka war on terror, and advancing the notion it be a long war I knew we were hosed. The war on terror didn’t even have a clearly defined opponent. Despite that I was blinded by patriotism. I bought into the lies despite I could clearly see the lack of strategy. That changed me. I have zero trust in anything the government says and I have repressed any patriotism due to not wanting to be blinded again.

The Biden regime, foolishly, wanted a proxy war with Russia, thinking it and NATO would win it. It thwarted all peace attempts by the Russians. And, it has been a disaster.

LOL MacGregor has been wrong about everything he’s said about Ukraine from the beginning. Russia has been assaulting Bakhmut for 10 months, was incapable of encircling the city and is still fighting block by block. Other Russian assaults are going nowhere. And this is after raising another 250-300K troops in the fall. Meanwhile, American aid workers who have just been in Ukraine are saying the Ukrainians are telling them they have 1 million men under arms and had to stop raising more because they don’t have the equipment.
As for MacGregor, everything no matter what shows Russia is winning and Ukraine is losing. He uses his former military experience to give the appearance of inside knowledge and authority he no longer has. A few months ago he was predicting a massive Russian Winter Offensive (™) that would crush Ukraine. Since that did not happen, he is ignoring his previous predictions and downplaying the expected Ukrainian offensive. MacGregor is shilling for Russia for his own reasons.
