STARKE, Fla. (AP) — Florida executed a man known as the “ninja killer” on Wednesday for the 1989 slayings of a couple visiting the state from New Jersey.
Louis Bernard Gaskin, 56, was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. after receiving a lethal injection, the governor’s office said. He was convicted of killing Robert Sturmfels, 56, and Georgette Sturmfels, 55, on Dec. 20, 1989, in their Flagler County winter home on Florida’s northeastern coast.

34 years later! Outrageous.
One down! I guess it’s a good start!
Need more follow thru though!
It was worth it.
The guy was probably worth the cost of a single bullet and not 30+ years worth of free lodging. I’m a believer in swift justice. That means it’s over quickly for the perpetrator and the paying public. It’s win/win.
Just think about it, every night his last thoughts are, will they execute me tomorrow or the next day? repeat for thirty years.
Seems like a good penalty to torture these monsters for a long time with always that glimmer of hope they will be set free and then one day its over.
Me too, but better late than never. When they are allowed to hang around facing no justice eventually the progressive bleeding hearts will in effect pardon them by changing the rules. (see: California). This execution while not timely stills sends a strong message.
“will they execute me tomorrow or the next day?”
Doesn’t work like that.....he knew in advance the death warrant had been signed........Japan is like that however.....the condemned inmate is notified the day the death warrant is signed then the execution is carried out later that day.
34 years, that ain’t justice. I say we get rid of the delay between arrest, conviction and sentence. In a Capital murder case, the State Supreme Court can send people in to monitor the trial and report back. Put them to death within the week if there are no obvious problems with the evidence and identification of the perps. IN ONE WEEK, now that would “Settle ‘em down”.
Innocents being convicted in a Capital murder case, extremely rare. What they should do is if a lawyer looking to “make his bones” keeping bad people alive is found wrong, he sits on the lap of the executed in the electric chair... Not literally, just put them down too. Less lawyers, more fun in hell is how I see it.
Liberals generally believe man is an animal. By the luck of the draw we are more intelligent and sentient than slugs.
With the above a given, why do they care about bad guys being put down? Even not so bad guys meeting their maker? Everyone will die someday, if there is even a shadow of a doubt, people are set free. So execute murderers, rapists, child groomers and molestors within a week or two max.
Again, why do they care about humans. My guess is, they don’t. They are doing the equivalent of buying Lotto tickets. If they hit just the right combination, THEY are saved from a lifetime of a Middle class existence and cataupulted to the ranks of the wealthy.
A Florida man?
It has been a very busy day (for me).
I apologize to Governor DeSantis for not posting my thanks and gratitude sooner.
