Crew preparing to tow Jeep submerged in lake discover missing woman alive inside

A missing Texas woman was found alive last week in a Jeep that plunged into a lake and was almost entirely submerged, police said.

The unidentified woman had been missing from Longview when she was found inside the black vehicle in Lake o’ the Pines on Friday, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

Pictures from the scene show the hood of the Jeep just barely visible above the water about 40 feet from the shore. The sheriff’s office’s statement said that a fisherman alerted authorities to the vehicle in the morning.

Police arrived at the scene about 18 minutes later, then waited for a local wrecking crew to arrive.

“We do not know how long the Jeep was in the water,” Capt. Chuck Rogers told NPR of the incident.

The police and the wrecking crew were getting ready to tow the car using the fisherman’s own boat when they noticed someone was inside and moving. *** They pulled the woman onto the boat and took her to shore, where she huddled in a car to keep warm before an ambulance arrived.

Her current condition is unknown, and Longview authorities have declined to share further details about her disappearance.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office believes the Jeep rolled into the lake accidentally.

“Does she have the power to breathe underwater?”

Probably an air pocket up at the ceiling. Y’know — like Mary Jo Kopechne had for a loooong time. Long enough for someone to have saved her life if “he” hadn’t been strolling around inventing his story for the media.

It seems like when they pulled her out of the water, I could see some primitive gills.

"Seems like she has mental issues."

It was a long time ago, but I think Longview was the name of a mental hospital in the Cincinnati area.. (?)

How do they know it’s a woman?

Either they were biologists or they were conservatives.

We have some old quarries around here. 40 ft would be an easy extraction. We’ve had cars down 200 feet.

I think every major town has a “Longview” or “Brookdale” or “Bellevue.”

As for me, based on the history of women drowning in cars, I suspect that a Kennedy was involved.

The left drags this tranny crap and climate change out and wonder why we conservatives get cranky. It’s going to get hotter and it won’t be the climate. IMO

Those east Texas lakes have some flat areas. It may have only been 4ft deep 40 yds from shore. the cab of the Jeep never went completely under.

This is the place to go to watch submarine races.

I mentioned "submarine races" to friends of mine in their 30's and and neither of them had a clue what I was talking about. It was all, "How do you watch a submarine race?"

Damn kids!

Then again, maybe it has something to do with them growing up in Arizona.
