A graphic video has emerged of a homeless giving birth on a San Francisco sidewalk in broad daylight as passersby try to help her.
The incident, which is understood to have happened late last week, occurred on Geary Street in San Francisco, right next to Union Square, in the city's Tenderloin District, which is infamously overrun by drug-addicted homeless people.
In the video, the woman is seen lying on her side with her pants pulled down, attempting to cradle the newborn.
Two other people appear in the video by the woman's side, one man, wearing a baseball cap and with his cell phone out, kneels beside her as the baby emerges, and the other stands over the heartbreaking seen.
The baby lies on the sidewalk, crying, covered in the mess of its birth until its mother reaches to scoop it up with a piece of fabric.
'Just relax, the ambulance will get here,' the man with the cellphone can be heard saying in the video.
Several other bystanders can be seen in the periphery of the video as well.
The Twitter account PPV-Tahoe - News Journalist posted the disturbing video on Saturday.
The San Francisco fire department confirmed that a woman gave birth to a child in 'public view' on Thursday, though they did not confirm whether the woman in the video is the same one referenced in their statement.
'The public view is an area viewable by the public like a sidewalk,' said a department spokesperson.

Sounds like he was trying to comfort her imo. At least he didn’t pass on by.
My son went to SF for grad school 10+ years ago. He lived in the Tenderloin for a year or so in a studio apartment there, $1100/month. It was the cheapest place he could find. He was mugged once while I was on the phone with him, but luckily he shoved the druggie away and the thug left him alone. That’s a phone call I won’t soon forget. It only lasted a couple of seconds, and luckily he was strong enough to defend himself. He moved out of that wasteland as soon as he could afford it. One visit by us was all it took to convince him to get the hell outta there. Don’t know what he was thinking to stay as long as he did, but I’m very glad he made it out of there alive and well.
Good point.
And some say, that even infants and toddlers can be “trans”, so parents should really be attuned to cues from these youngsters, as to how they identify.
I remember in the 1980s or 1990s, reading a book about India and life on the streets of Calcutta. I couldn’t believe any place could be that horrible and wondered how in the world a country have that poverty and depth of hopelessness with people living worse than animals.
I never in my wildest dreams would have believed our beautiful United States of America could ever fall that far.
“Rockin’ In The Free World”
The Tenderloin has been awful for a long time.
But not like this. There were at one time a lot of SROs (Single Room Occupancies) where people like elderly merchant marine, elderly single women, etc. lived in former apartments broken into rooms. The places were tiny with a shared kitchen and bath, but cheap and respectable. There were still people living on the street, but they were mostly what we used to call “winos” (street alcoholics) and ate at the Catholic “St. Anthony’s Dining Room” sponsored by the Franciscans. So while they were not an asset to the neighborhood, they were generally harmless.
There were two things that brought on the current state of the neighborhood: the influx/semi-legalization of drugs, wave after wave over the decades, each one more powerful than the last; and Ronald Reagan’s closing of the mental hospitals when he was Governor.
Motus in fine velocior
Probably where it was conceived too.
Anyone want to bet that local SF coverage of this will draw complaints that the author automatically assumed it was a “woman” who gave birth?
S.F. is a third world city with a $10M toilet...
This is horrifying... drugs are probably involved somehow.. but still..
Prayers up for this poor woman!
Keep on rocking in the free world!
There is nothing that San Francisco Newsomforia can do that surprises anymore.
The guy helping said the ambulance was on its way
How did the fire department know it was a woman? Do they have a biologist on call?
“Let’s have “safe” injection sites....
We are going to hell faster than anyone can even imagine.
I guess nobody in her circle of people knew (or cared) to call, oh I dunno, maybe when the contractions started?
Did anyone apologize for not referring to she/her as a birthing person?
/S
At least the local house cat around here found a safe, warm place to drop her/its load....smarter than most leftists for sure.
