The Hollywood Reporter and its at-large editor and veteran reporter Kim Masters are the last places one would expect to see anything even hinting that catering to LGTBQWERTY sensibilities might explain poor performance with audiences. Hollywood may be the gay-friendliest place on Earth, after all.
That must be why it took almost 2,500 words in this long article on troubles at Amazon Studios before the subject of discarding the system of audience ratings was introduced. Amazon's Prime Video is the greatest rival of Netflix and spends enormous amounts of money seeking "tent pole" series that will cause people to want to subscribe or renew their subscriptions. Yet Netflix dominates Prime when it comes to the most popular streaming series.
It seems that the problem with letting audiences tell them what they like (and presumably making decisions on what to make and release) is this:
Another complaint is that Sanders [head of television programming] relies heavily on feedback from focus groups, which tend to favor broad and less inclusive programming. Several Amazon insiders say the reliance on testing and data led to a clash late last summer, when an Amazon executive said in a marketing meeting for the series A League of Their Own that data showed audiences found queer stories off-putting and suggested downplaying those themes in materials promoting the show. Series co-creator Will Graham became greatly concerned about bias built into Amazon's system for evaluating shows, which multiple sources say often ranked broad series featuring straight, white male leads above all others. One executive calls A League of Their Own "a proxy for how diverse and inclusive shows are treated."

They can make that crap and promote it all they want. I’ll stick with the original Perry Mason reruns.
notice how the Woke BS isn’t injected until the 4th or 5th episode.
‘audiences found queer stories off-putting’
Gosh, ya think?
“Diverse and inclusive” = niche market that includes negatives in most other markets.
Good luck making money with that.
Ironically, Perry Mason was a faggot
I really hate when they do that to a tv show, we’re getting sick and tired of that “normalcy” being shoved in our faces when only about 1% of the US population calls themselves trannies.
I loved the show Billions until they introduced the he/she thing at the end of season 1. It was so sick i had to quit watching the show. GFY hollywood!
Are they not in business to make money?
Then why not give audiences what the audiences want, and not what the audiences don’t want?
Netflix used to have comments and rating for its offering, too. They quit it and removed that capability likely because of the same thing. Now all Netflix is doing is adding Hindi, Telegu, Turkish, Egyptian, Syrian, Nigerian B-grade stuff and calling it “New Releases.” And when they aren’t doing that they’re searching for posters for the shows they do have that may have someone black in it to show even though that particular character plays some minor role.
Of the three streaming venues I have, this one is very, very near being the first one I cancelled.
If you subscribe to netflix then you are supporting obama and big mike
In our home we typically don't watch hot, woke garbage of any sort. LGBTBBQ programming gets a hard pass.
Have a nice day. Or not.
Yes Raymond Burr was a homo, which was apparently known to almost everyone in Hollywood and to no one outside of Hollywood.
And everything worked out just fine somehow. Not like now.
They omit everything business or news that doesn’t fit
“NONE of the news that’s fit to print”
We rarely even open the Prime Video app because of the offensive content on so many shows.
Pureflicks and Hulu are the most used apps.
Actually they all place social engineering at the top till they cannot
IMDB as well
Enormous forum
Once we started gaining just a minor foothold in a sea of lefties they shut it down whining to stop the hate
FOX did that with The Last Man on Earth, with two major characters becoming lesbians, possibly in the second season of that one, too.
So most of the new shows we watched we just stopped, cold turkey.
What's funny is that someone posted an article here a few weeks back about a third of current shows getting cancelled this year, and how it disproportionately affected minorities, including the Alphabets.
I made that same observation two weeks ago.

This issue hit high gear in 2009 when Obama held a meeting with the leadership of the National Endowment for the Arts asking them to help advance his agenda by inserting liberal messaging into their plots and scripts. In recent years, this included adding trans-gendered characters in roles, either overtly trans or playing straight roles of the opposite sex.
The most insidious tactic for new shows is to wait until viewership builds and then hit the audience with a propaganda show midway through the season. See last week's NBC's Quantum Leap high school transgender episode as an example.
On Star Trek: Discovery, the producer is a lesbian, half the cast is gay, and there are several gay or trans characters in the show.
