Costco Cake Decorator’s Epic Fail Leaves Customers in Stitches
New York Post ^

When putting through a custom order on anything, we’re often told it’s always best to give as much detail as you can to avoid any confusion. Even better if you give a picture or sketch reference.

But for one Costco customer, this strategy turned their custom cake order rather pear-shaped. And we’re sorry, but we’re laughing along with the internet on this one!

A Reddit user posted via r/mildlyInfuriating has shared how the supermarket giant got their order completely wrong despite them being very clear about what they wanted. Perhaps a little TOO clear.

Gee, did I really need a sarcasm tag? :-)

Guess did. I knew I’d catch one. ;-)

I have a problem with folks thinking this was hilarious.

I agree with you. But sometimes folks laugh to keep from being angry or sad.

I used to go to a bakery that had three very pretty women working there. They might have been related; cousins if not sisters. They were beautiful but they were as dumb as a post. I'm not kidding either. It was shocking to interact with them. All their customers were painfully aware of it.

At best you could point at what you wanted and say how many. You couldn't ask for a dozen with half of something. Point to one thing and say six. Point to another and say six. Don't bother asking for anything customized or order anything for pickup later.

I guess I’m dense.

What is the humor and what is wrong?

With that attention to detail, that cake maker has potential to be a CPA. OTOH, I doubt that person could pass the CPA exam.

There's an accountant who works next to me whose LI profile highlights his status as a "CPA Candidate". I've seen enough of his work product to opine he'll never pass the test. According to that profile, he has a Master's in Accounting, too. Gives me pause about what the heck he was taught in college.

Thankfully, I passed it long ago, when essay questions were a large part of the exam. Those questions got me over the top, I was marginal on the multiple choice problems.

O/T, looking at the clock, I'm surprised my faithful pooch hasn't woken yet, time for her to eat. Might as well get up and head to work early. My "tax season" will likely extend to the end of June, we're that busy.

I’ve observed some use parameter when they mean perimeter.

” You couldn’t ask for a dozen with half of something. “

I suppose asking for a baker’s dozen would short circuit their puny brains?
