For the past half-century, nearly every year since 1973, around Easter and Passover ABC has rebroadcast Cecil B. DeMille’s Oscar-winning 1956 epic The Ten Commandments, which draws its story from the Old Testament book of Exodus about Moses’ (Charlton Heston) deliverance of the Israelites from slavery at the hands of Egyptian pharaoh Rameses II (Yul Brynner)

But it is NOT about Jesus and the resurrection. Period. Spare me all the interconnection stuff. No innocent Hindu watching would get any of that.
It’s a Passover thing. Let’s be honest. It’s not a Christian accommodation.

Everything in Ben-Hur is astounding. Even the score is truly one of the greatest ever for a movie.

Thanks for admitting that. And clarifying it. Too many people fall for the wrong connection.

Quo Vadis is great. Terrific fun; hilarious Petronius.
Also see the big resemblance between it and Ben-Hur. The score is similar (same writer), the chariot run is similar. It’s as if the producer of Ben-Hur used Qou Vadis as a launching pad for structure.

Me too. I did it at home watching it tonight. My wife giggled and rolled her eyes.

HD antenna that plugs into a USB port or jack.
Gets all local stations. So many local stations (ABC, FOX, etc) have many signals now so I think in some markets you can get METv H&I, antennatv, Comet
Lo5s old shows. Usually cost about $30.

It was the old silent movie one. I need to look at our movie inventory more often. We OWN The Ten Commandments.

Have the Commandments been updated with modern ones? Some years ago, I ran across a modern translation of Exodus 20:7--"Don't diss the cat upstairs. It ain't cool, and payback's a monster!"

Except for the scenes with Jack Hawkins ("Quintus Arrius") and the famous "Chariot Race" sequence, I can hardly stomach "Ben-Hur."
"The Ten Commandments" I could watch again and again, forever.
Go ahead: Ask any fan of classic Hollywood movies to quote something from "The Ten Commandments." You'll get an ear full!
Then ask him to quote something from "Ben-Hur." < crickets >
Regards,

Yeah!!!
Another Quo Vadis fan!
Indeed, Quo Vadis inspired the making of Ben-Hur. Props were recycled.
Robert Taylor was supposed to play Ben-Hur, but for some reason he did not.
I am grateful that Charlton Heston played the part because he was a perfect fit.

Actually towards the end of the Book of Exodus it refers to Moses having white hair but youthful skin...God preserved him...
after all, he was 120 years old and tracking through the wilderness.
