Had a weird email from Ebay this weekend.
I have (or had?) an ebay account, I have not used it in years.
This weekend I received an email saying my account was permanently banned because I had done some sort of 'promoting hate'
Considering that I have not been on eBay site for many years I can only assume they were referring to some post I made on some OTHER site.
I am pretty vocal about how I think liberalism, and especially this 'trans' business is a mental disease.
So, is eBay trolling other sites to check my social score?
Did some butthurt liberal take objection to something I wrote elsewhere and decide to look up anything with my email address and get me banned? did they 'report' me to EBAY and ebay acted on it?
If I was relying on that site for actual income I would be very unhappy. Since I don't actually even remember having an account there it does not bother me much.
Is EBAY just cancelling any people who are not liberal? Is EBAY a 'liberals only' site?
DOES ANYONE HERE USE IT?
Ignore it.......................
The email smells like a scam. I would ignore it.
Could be a Phishing email to trick you into clicking a ransomware link.
I get emails all the time from sites that I never have even been on saying my account is frozen or some such rot..................It’s a scammer trying to get money to ‘unfreeze’ my account by me paying a ‘fine’................
probably fishing...ignore it.
Yep, a scam.
I get an email from time to time, telling me my Wells Fargo account has been suspended , and to click on a link to review suspicious activity.
I do not have a Wells Fargo account. So I figured that has to be some sort of a scam email that’s being sent to people. Perhaps this eBay email is something similar.
I still get emails from ‘Amazon Security’ telling me someone in New Mexico is trying to order two iPhones on my account!
Just one problem:
I don’t have an Amazon account!.................
I use ebay and I have never received anything like that in an email. You sure it wasn’t paypal doing that because you purchased on ebay?
Where on ebay would you post something promoting hate? I just buy something there, not post opinions.
Probably a scam.
Even if it isn’t, ignore it anyway if it came from EBAY.
I am promoting hate too. I hate eBay! Hey Ebay
I’ve never had a PayPal account.
Yep. Sounds like Its fishing email. Block the email address if you can .....not that it’ll matter probably.
Check the incoming email address......chances are it’s something weird from another country.
We’ve been getting texts referencing our amazon account being locked.
DO NOT respond.
I use Ebay frequently, but have never gotten a NastyGram like that one.
The first two posters may have it right: it was not sent by Ebay, but by a scammer hoping to lure you into their website, that one with 31 flavors of computer viruses. Advice: Don’t go in the basement!
Phishing. I get these all the time, from every direction, and they look official. Trashcan/digitally shred it. And DON’T ever click on any links in the email.
I get stuff like that too. The last one was that I just purchased an expensive laptop and if I have any problems, click this handy link. LOL
Same with Amazon. I closed my account years go and still get notifications that my account has been compromised.

If you have hotmail, right click the the email in your mailbox and scroll to ‘block’. That will expose the source. If it is a scam, the source will not look legit. Block them.
