Americans Have Stopped Trusting the Pentagon With Their Lives
Townhall ^ | 27 Mar, 2023 | Kurt Schlichter

Right now, many of us vets are looking back on our years of service and wondering what the hell we did it all for. We used to know – for the USA. Yet you look at the disaster that is our country, our culture, and our beloved military, and you just want to go find a wall and pound your head against it. But a lot fewer folks are going to have this problem in the future because a lot fewer young people are joining our military. The Pentagon can't meet its recruiting goals, and, of course, the fault is our young people, our potential soldiers, for being unwilling to sacrifice their time, and sometimes their lives, in support of the bizarre social pathologies that our garbage ruling class embraces.

The military lost our trust, and it seems uninterested in earning it back. Time for the normals to go on strike until the military becomes a military again instead of a camouflaged faculty lounge.

Why the hell should anybody join the military right now? Don't tell me that it is "to defend the United States" because that's not what the military's primary occupation appears to be anymore. Let's review. We just had former admiral and current Biden Baghdad Bob, smarmy State Department Spokesperson John Kirby, announce that a "core part" of United States foreign policy is "LGBTQ+ rights." You know, not a lot of normal people particularly want to suffer and bleed for that blue coastal fetish. Maybe they do in the rich liberal neighborhoods where Kirby's masters live – actually, they are happy for your kids to suffer and bleed for it, not their own. Oh, and you know what else is a strategic priority? The weather.

But, but the military says it’s recruiting problems are not because of their new wokeness.

Any general that pushes woke excrement is fully capable of turning the military against citizens. Guaranteed. Such people are degenerate Democrats - e.g., folks who care only about themselves and their image. They are to be despised.

Yeah, but Americans continue to trust DEMs with their lives by continuously voting them into power, so they’re screwed anyway,

World War II soldiers were considered heroes but Korea not so much. Then Viet Nam came along and activists turned against the Veterans blaming then for the war. Traitors like John Hanoi Kerry started calling veterans baby killers and war criminals while actually it was his crew that killed a 13 year old with a 50 cal machine gun. It was easier to attack soldiers than their demonicratic buddies in the government which they sought to take their power.

Wokeness, decades of political correctness and losing endless wars does it. Add incompetence and a lack of moral fortitude to that. Just look at Milley. That lard ass can’t pass a PT test. What the eff is he doing in uniform? He is the top uniformed military official and is supposed to lead by example. Actually he has. There are woke freaks all over the military now. The racist DefSec is no better. Austin is the model of the revolving door between the Military Industrial Complex and the Pentagon.

Exactly what is a 17 year old young man to think when he has groomer teachers indoctrinating him in high school and a military recruiter comes by the high school to present the woke military as an option after graduation? Jeez, do recruiters still go to high schools? Do young men take ASVABs in high school and given an idea how they can serve their country? Or is there some kind of test to determine their sexual orientation and gender preference that places them into elite units to destroy?

The Pentagon has been transformed into The Pentagram due to the non-stop assault initiated by 0bama and Biden. But, Bush did his share as well by ordering the Army to give berets to everyone so that everyone could feel like they were “elite”.

Wouldn’t surprise me any if the Pentagram comes up with some sort of medal for the proper use of pronouns.

It’s all part of the general plan of getting in to a war we can’t win so Obama/Biden can wave the white flag of surrender and submit the USA to the UN and the Globalist cabal

Oh, I was paying attention. But I am not seeing any widespread protests over Brandon’s election. So, as far as I am concerned, unpunished stolen elections have consequences.

The military has lots of problems, being woke just being one.

The BS way we pulled out of Afghanistan after years of shed American blood has caused nearly every person who participated or supported those there to have pause to consider their service.

I served over 20 years on active duty. I tell every kid I encounter not to join.

You can get your college paid for by working at Walmart and get shot at way less.

A couple more escalations (one will be a counter escalation to the Russian nukes coming to Belarus) and they will be forced to reinstate the draft. Remember, a simple majority vote of our warmongering Congress is all it takes.

Plus we are fighting in Syria. We are fighting lots of places that the American public are not aware of but its not their kids so they don't care.

We are dumping more U.S. money in Ukraine that the countries in Europe that could possible be Russias next target. Until they level up, we should suspend all support.

The military always has problems recruiting in good economic times. My impression is a majority join the military for benefits now and accept wokeness is part of the package. Service academy slots are still highly coveted and way more kids want them than can get them. Kids these days want to be drone operators and techies. Not much interest in swabbing the deck, mess cooks, etc. So that is certainly a problem for recruiting.

I don’t regret my twenty plus years in the Marines because when I did it there was still something worth fighting for. Now, all that investment - my best years of life, separation from family, multiple change of stations, etc., are being trashed by something I never fathomed would ever happen to America. I remember listening to Yuri Bezmenov back then, but like so many, I discounted that a takedown of America by the Commies could ever happen. I was so wrong, he was so right. He was the master KGB defector who knew all too well the Communists’ perfected plan of psychological subversion warfare, where winning didn’t turn on ‘beans, bullets, and bandaids’, but a battle where bullets were useless, a battle for an adversary’s mind. No, I don’t regret fighting the good fight, but, like Schlichtor I would never advise my military-brat, grandchildren to go military today.

Good post; in adopting “fighting for LBGTBetc. rights” the military is following the path set by GW Bush in Afghanistan. When he first invaded, the supposed thought was to punish and destroy AlQaeda; a most sensible goal almost everyone could agree on. Then it evolved away from getting bin Laden (not important said Cheney, Iraq is) and eventually got to the point at the end of Bush’s reign that our military was in Afghanistan to protect women’s rights. That may be noble but: a) it doesn’t look like it was acheivable; b) the average American, male or female, doesn’t want to risk their lives for it; c) there is no measurable outcome. So what do we have there now?? The Taliban, an organization antithetical to the idea not only of any women’s rights, but any modern notions of life whatsover, other than military weaponry Senile let them have.

They are a moneymaking operation for the "defense" industry, a colonial police force the globalist elite, a federal jobs program, and (to be fair) sometimes do some good with disaster relief. Also some ceremonial odds and ends.

But they never ever protect the United States (other than Marines guarding embassies).
