"Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?" I know what you did there. :-)

Those videos go back a few years. Hilarious! I don’t have a Trunk Monkey, but I am my wife’s Purse Monkey.🙄

My Mom had a room-sized cage of those little Finches - and they never. shut. up! She did have a nice Canary that sang a lot - that was pretty. She also had Cockatiels, which seemed pretty smart - or well trained.
As a Dog Person, I’ll never, ‘get it,’ though I spend a lot of time and attention (and money!) feeding the wild birds OUTSIDE, where they belong. ;)
Reptiles? No quarter!

Although the cause of death has not been disclosed, officials have revealed that the man had a snake bite mark.
Oh g'wan. ;^)

25 or so years ago when my son had bearded dragons, we’d get feeder crickets at Reptile Warehouse. True story!
They’re no longer in business, apparently there wasn’t a business model there.

Generally when something like a venomous snake escape or death of a amateur herpetologist occurs, the reptile hobbyists jump in to the conversation with comments defending their hobby.
One of the problems with this hobby, nor matter what the wild animal, is that there is ALWAYS the potential for harm to other members of the community as well as to the local ecology if the species reproduces.
The Florida situation with Boas in the wild wasn’t something that was planned, I’m sure, but look at the consequences.

It should be against the law to sell poisonous snakes from foreign countries. We don’t need our country turned into a hellhole in even one more way...

Unfortunately, one slimy, venomous serpent head with gruesome fangs, slithered away and escaped.

Probably not.
Super tight community where everyone knows everyone else.
These people make bank on exotics so there is rarely just some crazy guy with lots of herps for no reason.
I’ll check the forums and see what I find.
