In Bavaria, crepes are called palatschinke.

From the Latin word "placenta."

It ain’t just Bavaria. Crepes like that are just as popular in Austria.

In Hungary they are called “Palacsinta” (cs in Hungarian is like a “ch” sound in English) and are hugely popular there. Ever heard of Cheese Blintzes served at various Jewish Delis and restaurants? Its crepes filled with a sweetened cheese like cottage cheese.

All of that stuff is delicious.
