Last week, students at Stanford Law disrupted a Federalist Society event that featured U.S. Circuit Court Judge Kyle Duncan. Duncan was prevented from speaking by unruly protesters and berated by the school's associate dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Now, some of the protest leaders, many of whom shared the names and pictures of Federalist Society members online and in posters, are unhappy because the Washington Free Beacon published their names.
"NEW: The same students who plastered the names and faces of the Stanford Federalist Society all over the school are now demanding anonymity from the Free Beacon. They say we've violated their right to privacy by identifying them. You can't make it up," Aaron Sibarium, a journalist for the Washington Free Beacon, tweeted Friday.
"On Sunday, I identified board members of the Stanford National Lawyers Guild--one of the groups responsible for the posters--who in a public statement described the protest as 'Stanford Law School at its best.' A few hours later, the board demanded I redact their names," Sibarium reported.
Sibarium said that Lily Bou, a board member of the Stanford National Lawyers Guild, sent an email demanding the Free Beacon remove her name and those of other students from their reporting. "Listing our names serves no purpose other than to invite abuse and harassment," she wrote.
"I wonder what purpose the posters of the fedsoc board served," Sibarium wrote.
"You do not have our permission to reference or quote any portion of this email in a future piece," she added.
"Needless to say, that's not how the First Amendment works," Sibarium commented.
He went on, "We've gotten similar complaints about publishing images—pulled from social media—of Stanford Law School dean Jenny Martinez's classroom, which protesters covered end to end in flyers after she issued an apology to Judge Duncan."

Turn about is fair play, suckers.
yep, publish the names and pictures of every single one of them and make them unemployable!
Will never get a job at all.
Their Names and Pictures should be published in every article about this
Here's a notion. Publish all the publicly names, head-shots and available bios, and then issue apologies for having done that. Seems the game to play....
Their names and fotos are an integral part of the story. People are usually known by their reputations. Actions have consequences!
Of course the hypocrisy is lost on these fools.
They are afraid of being identified and then marked and banned by future employers such judges:
14th Federal Judge Join Boycott, Refuses To Hire Yale Students As Law Clerks
My friend, Judge Jim Ho, recently raised legitimate concerns about the lack of free speech on law school campuses, Yale in particular. Like Judge Ho, I am gravely concerned that the stifling of debate not only is antithetical to this country’s founding principles, but also stunts intellectual growth. Accordingly, I accept Judge Ho’s invitation to join him in declining to consider students from Yale Law School for clerkships with me, with an exception for past and current students.
You can add Stanford to that list.
There was a case some years back (maybe 10) of left-wing protestors demanding to not be photographed as they took over a campus building.
I think it was at George Mason University.
They went to court over it, and lost. The judge told them that if they were engaging in “a demonstration,” they gave up their right to privacy as a matter of definition.
Their lawsuit was thrown out of court.
Not only should there names not be redacted but the identities and biographies of all arrested Antifa members , violent arrested protesters, government officials who violate individual civil rights and convicted perverts should be listed on a website that is easily referenced.
Oh...they think their anonymity on FB, Yelp, TikTok and Twitter extends to the real world and journalists should respect that anonymity? Tuff cookies scumbags.
Oxymoron
Stanford Law protesters
Rush Limbaugh: “Liberalism cannot withstand scrutiny.”
Post their names and photos, and see to it that they NEVER work for you or any organization you care about.
These idiots are losers, as Stanford seems to be now and should and should never be allowed to practice law.
Stanford once was a respected institution. Now it should shut down. A Stanford education is now officially worthless.
These toddlers will someday be Federal judges. 100%. Tell me how this nation isn’t doomed.
Betcha most of them have purple hair and tip the scales >260
Probably lots of facial hardware too
Cant mention the company, but a relative gets these stories from online, prints them out and pretty much keeps a “DO NOT HIRE” from certain schools or cities....like NYC since they are lowering math scores to pass. Top of the list of DO NOT HIRE? Evergreen College, OR. This is a LARGE, multi-state accounting firm. Will forward this to relative.
Wish in one hand, .......
They’ll all be hired into government positions as soon as they graduate
