Authorities in Miami Beach, Fla., have said they no longer want spring breakers to visit the city after two fatal shootings involving partygoers over the weekend.
Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber imposed a curfew in the city Sunday night and said his administration would consider extending restrictions for the coming weekend.

Ban those that cause the trouble. After you arrest them and throw the book at them.
“I went to Daytona Bike Week once too and it was the same deal, sand on everything, beer, and generally speaking - a boring-ass time”
If you weren’t rocking TWO wheels I imagine it would be boring.
Any reason to tear sh!t up. SMH

In the immortal words of NFL coach Dennis Greene “THEY WERE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE”
They probably spend more because there aren’t 20 of them to a hotel room

I was rocking on two wheels and the locals are generally friendly and help us out by leaving their hoses stretched out across their yard so we could shower in the morning...
And those days you rolled down to the beach you didn’t trailer.
Agreed, the spring break juice was not worth the squeeze. BTW, before I came back to the states for college, I have never heard of high school spring break. 1975. Was it not a thing before then? We had Semana Santa (Holy Week) off in Venezuela and that’s the first week-long Spring vacay I ever experienced. I remember the bleakness of 5 months from January to June before a long break.
The usual suspects. White supremacists wearing blackface. Happens all the time.
Well, there’s Spring Break, and then there’s BLACK Spring Break.
When I go I usually don’t even go into Daytona proper.
Destination Daytona has everything I’m looking for without the headaches......and going on the last Sunday pretty much ensures a lot of the out of staters have bugged out.
Did go in a couple of years ago because a neighbor had a new bike and wanted the experience cruising main street.
Probably 20 minutes of duckwalking my bike with my wife on the back........what a freakin’ circus.
Simple solution; put a toll booth on the bridge and charge to enter and exit the city during springbreak.
Well, there’s Spring Break, and then there’s BLACK Spring Brea

I wonder if Panama City beach will be overrun again this year
The past few years looked like Miami Beach
Curfews needed , looting and shootings
Simple solution; put a toll booth on the bridge and charge to enter and exit the city during springbreak.

They will just sell their SNAP (food stamp) benefits which they likely did anyway to buy the booze
Raise the bridges!!! We have family who live in Miami Beach, including someone who works on the beach. Sigh.
Miami Beach was a really classy, beautiful and expensive place to go during the 30’s thru the 60’s. TV shows like Surfside Six and the hotels like the Fontainebleau and the NY style deli’s on Collins Avenue. Many High school proms were held there and James Bond even met Goldfinger.
The late 70’s saw the Cocaine Cowboys move in along with a significant bunch of gays, later in April of 1980 the Mariel boatlift brought over 100,000 Cubans to Florida, most of them settled in Miami and Miami Beach. It was during this time period that South Beach started to go downhill. With the crime and drugs the Black population started to increase and since they were not welcome in Daytona or Ft. Lauderdale they came to SoBe as it is called now for their version of Spring Break.
How sad that a once beautiful American city has turned into a ghetto jungle but truth be told Miami Beach is not alone in this, look at Chicago, NY, LA and SF and just about any major city in this country where crime and drugs are a way of life.
