My Beagle/jack Russel catches and dispatches squirrels before they can even get a chance to squeak…chomps their little heads.
Catches bats too…I really don’t know how she it does that.

And since it is covered it can be used outside .....or inside. This rat trap is downright diabolical! If the rats don’t go for the sunflower seeds. Then place a lump of peanut butter way in the rear. Or they will really smell the peanut butter if you smear it on an old credit card
One thing I recently learned about rats is that because of their superior sense of smell it’s best to use leather gloves, not plastic, not latex, leather, when loading up the traps. I don’t know in particular if it’s true, it feels true though.
The really bad thing about mice is that they will chew the insulation off electrical wiring and if the wires spark it could cause a fire.
Inexpensive rubber gloves are good enough. The love peanut butter plus PB puts off a good scent for them to pickup on. Maybe cheese in a spray can is better. No gloves needed.
He has good pointers about catching rats etc.. That looks to be improved as he points out from the open box design.
We have some huge squirrels out back but the only one that seemed inclined for confined places like that rat trap jumped into my lawnmower once without bait.
