Doesn't help that hides went from over $10 to $2-3 each. It used to be something my neighbor would do to bring in some money for Christmas and another chunk of money to spend in the Spring.
Yep. Beau gives the coon hides he gets to friends of ours that make BEAUTIFUL items from the fur - I have a Raccoon Headband that I just love; velvet lined and it is really warm.
She is currently making Beau a vest from raccoon. Should be interesting. (I’ll just leave it at that, LOL!)
He’s gotten two ‘Blond’ raccoon through the year; we have those pelts displayed, and a while back he got a really nice black raccoon which is also pretty uncommon.
But, yes. Interest has greatly waned since they’re not worth spit these days.
Maybe with our banking system going bust, we can deal in fur again? ROFLMAO! I crack myself up!
