Whoopi Goldberg has issued an apology for using a Romani slur on The View She used the term while speaking about Trump and Stormy Daniels hush money 'Gypped' is a common obscenity used against people of Romani heritage
Whoopi Goldberg has apologized for using a Romani slur on Wednesday's episode of The View, with the host claiming her age played a factor.
Goldberg had been discussing possible criminal charges against former U.S. President Donald Trump in the hush money scandal with porn star Stormy Daniels when she used the word 'gypped.'
While speaking with fellow co-hosts the 67-year-old said: 'The people who still believe that he got, you know, gypped somehow, will still believe that he cared enough… about his wife to pay that money from his personal thing. I just don't understand. If that was the case, then why all the subterfuge? Why is Michael Cohen paying for it?'
Goldberg was quick to issue an apology video after realizing the faux pas, chalking up the mistake to words she'd heard throughout her life.

All I know is that I have been gypped by the Democrats for decades
Hey Whoppi - I am older that you and I have known that that word is offensive, to many persons, for at least 35 years. Shame on you for not keeping up with the times!
I don’t recall ‘the bent one’, Bill Clinton, being criminally investigated for $850,000 hush money paid to Paula Jones.
When will Whoopie be cancelled for having appropriated a Jewish name?
Well, I heard and used that word all through my childhood, and never knew it offended the gypsies. But it probably had some basis in fact, the gypsies in Europe having been rather notorious for stealing stuff.
“hush money scandal”
Wasn’t it a legitimate Non Disclosure Agreement that she signed? Speak of “hush money scandals”, we never did find out about the list of payments of taxpayer dollars to people who were sexually harassed by members of Congress, and staffers did we?
I’m sure gypsies everywhere are offended
“Well, I heard and used that word all through my childhood, and never knew it offended the gypsies.”
Paddy Wagon is offensive to the Irish. But they are too pale to get any traction on this slur
OK, what the he** have we devolved into??
I’ve seen several headlines this morning about what so and so said a naughty word (according to someone).
We can’t even talk anymore. ‘Pod
Very odd that Whoopi would use that word, since, being as inherently pure as she is, she would not have to know that the word is offensive to avoid using it.
America the land of immigrants, the melting pot, the place where the English language is full of words from everyone we meet. So why appologise? Oh, yea she’s a racist.
“I’m sure gypsies everywhere are offended”
Good violinists and dancers tho’...
Well, the standard is that it doesn't matter if you don't know a word is offensive, and it certainly doesn't matter under what circumstances it's said. You're supposed to be cancelled.
Whoopsie the rotund one, ought to change her name to something that enhances her image... Obessa Latrina
“...When will Whoopie be cancelled for having appropriated a Jewish name?”
Not gonna happen.
Not when Anti-Semitism (oops, I mean “Criticism of the Illegitimate, Apartheid State of Occupied Palestine”) has become a sacred, central plank of the woke hive-mind.
Agree. ;-)
I never knew that. I always thought it was a padded van of sorts....
So true. I am not a fan of anything of this sort, though I do enjoy the discomfiture of Leftists when they are hoisted publicly on their own petard.
But that is about it.
