If a New York grand jury indicts Donald Trump in connection with hush money payments to Stormy Daniels, it could deliver another twist to the bitter rivalry between the former president and his likely rival for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

For if Trump refuses to travel from his Mar-a-Lago home to surrender voluntarily to police in Manhattan, it would fall to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to sign a local arrest warrant.

The situation may be hypothetical but it is one of the potential scenarios that could play out if the nation enters the uncharted territory of a former president — and a current presidential candidate — being indicted.

And it could put DeSantis in a terrible bind.

Legal experts say he would have little choice but to authorize the extradition of a Florida resident to New York, knowing that he will be forever blamed by the Trump base as the man who signed the former president’s arrest warrant.

Thank you, petey. I emailed everyone everything I knew and suspected, with links to experts, from my family to my mechanics and near-strangers who had the misfortune of being in my address book. I truly believed it was information I shouldn’t keep to myself, in spite of how I knew it would make me look at the time (crazy). I didn’t tell anyone NOT to get jabbed, as that really wasn’t my place to say. I did suggest there was something wrong with the facts TPTB were laying out about overfilled hospitals, coronaviruses in general, masks, and the risk of death and hospitalization for each age group. I begged everyone to research before making any decisions that could be life-changing. It’s still painful to see the carnage but I know I did what I could to sound the alarm.
