I think in part, it was because the establishment political workers saw him as a flash-in-the-pan. Trump was the guy who crashed the DC party and was fun for a few beers, but the hard core party throwers were in DC permanently and Trump wasn’t so they weren’t going to permanently hitch their wagon to him. These people are political prostitutes—they will go wherever the power/jobs/money is and, long-term, they thought it was with other establishment political leaders. They are disloyal by their very nature and will backstab establishment leaders as well. There is a reason Diogenes never came to DC looking for an honest man and why Harry Truman said, “If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.”.

He opposed Trump in the last two elections? I don’t think so.

Makes sense that he said that. There are a lot of people who like DeSantis and would give money to his cause. But the one saying “donate here,” need to be vetted.
I could set up a website to collect $$ for a candidate and just keep the bucks.

Tell me if you thin orr know I’m wrong about that.

He has already stated that he never supported the blogger bill. What’s wrong with the 6-week abortion ban? It has the usual exceptions.

A six week ban is highly disfavored by voters needed to give DeSantis a victory, and the blogger thing looks hopelessly Mickey Mouse. If he favored it, that would be bad, if he tried to get it defeated and failed to do so, that would also look bad. You’re leadership is going to be questioned if your own side is forcing non-sensical or just plain unpopular policies on the voting public.

The GOP may speak for 25% of voters (or maybe just 13%, being a simple majority in a primary), and the Democrats for 31% of voters (or similar) but that big group of unaffiliated and third party voters are generally left to figure out which bunch is the least insane and least damaging to vote for. DeSantis bobbing along like a cork on a wave of crazy is not going to inspire many non-base voters to vote for him.

If DeDantis goes against Trump it will be the end of his political career. I smell Jeb Bush and Paul Ryan.

Regardless of whether he runs or not, DeSantis is right to warn people.

PACs are a scam to put money into the pockets of the people who run them.

Ken Cuccinelli is a grifter slimeball. HE is a prime example of a swamp creature.

Remember...Democrats use money to gain power. GOPe use power to get money...he is pure GOPe and stands to make a mint off DeSantis. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
