A 44-year-old man in Florida was arrested this week after he allegedly fired multiple shots at a naked man he found sleeping in his teenage daughter’s bed after a night of heavy drinking. Dayne Victor Miller was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling, authorities announced.
According to a press release from the Cape Coral Police Department, officers at approximately 12:32 a.m. on March 8 responded to a 911 call at a residence located in the 1000 block of SW 1st Street in regards to a reported shooting incident. In the call notes, the dispatcher wrote that the caller, later identified as Miller, had “shot at two individuals inside his home through a bedroom door.”
“Mr. Miller called dispatch and said that one of his roommates was naked in his teenage daughter’s bedroom, which sparked him to shoot at both roommates through a closed bedroom door,” the release states.
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders were able to extract both of Miller’s roommates from the bedroom.
Investigators learned that the two victims were a married couple renting a bedroom in Miller’s home. Also living in the home were Miller’s wife and teenage daughter.
Officers on the scene said that they found “shell casings and bullet holes through the bedroom door of the victims,” per the release
Miller told investigators that he and the two victims had been “drinking heavily” earlier in the night. He was then escorted out of the home without incident and placed under arrest.

Nor do guns and idiots mix. Add alcohol to the mixture and it is a recipe for disaster.
shoot, shovel and shut-up.
His daughter had not been approached by the naked man and she was not in danger.
Read the story.
There were two people in the bed, married to each other, present with the owner’s permission, who was too drunk to figure it out.
They are referred to in the story as “victims”. Did he kill them?
His daughter was not in there. The two paying roommates were.
He did shoot through the door at both roommates.
Put me on the jury. I’ll sit there at the table and vote “not guilty” for as long as it takes for the others to get tired of it and agree that we can’t reach a decision, or they see the error of their ways and vote “not guilty” as well.
That article was written in a very convoluted style, it took me a bit to sort out the details. Journalists these days are something else.
“fascinating”?..............Odd on your end.
I don’t care if he was drinking with the pair, and had invited the guy into the house. Drinking with a guy is not an invitation to have sex with your minor daughter. And, having sex with a minor is still a criminal offense.
“Oh, I see. She was literally sleeping with the guy, right?”
That is what I thought
The headline is purposely misleading click-bate
As you point out, the story is different. the Headline should be: “Drunk man shoots room-renting house guest”
Read the story. The title is misleading. The people he shot were a married couple who were renting the room.
So were the couple in the teen girl’s bed without the child?
“I thought the article said the man was in bed with his daughter?”
No, read more carefully. It says he was in the daughter’s bed. It does not say the daughter was in there with him.
If the daughter invited the naked guy into her bed, then dad raised a slut. He already failed as a father. Shooting his gun doesn't change that.
But the shots were only found in the floor. I thought based on the article.
What one says to 911 dispatch is not the truth. The cops said only holes in the floor in front of the door.
That’s the impression I get.
Arrested because hes a bad shot ...
One to the head ...
