AVI LOEB AND THE DOD’S CHIEF UAP INVESTIGATOR SEAN KIRKPATRICK SAY SOLVING AERIAL MYSTERIES REQUIRES KNOWN PHYSICS

Unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) appearing to exhibit “highly maneuverable” capabilities should produce luminosity and other observable features, including radio frequency signatures, according to calculations presented in a new study that calls for the better application of known physics in efforts to evaluate the phenomena.

The paper was co-authored by Avi Loeb, Harvard University astronomer and head of the Galileo Project, and Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick, director of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, the office currently leading the Pentagon’s efforts to study unidentified objects detected in U.S. airspace.

...

“We have to respect the laws of physics as we know them,” Loeb told The Debrief. “We can’t just say forget about it, whatever my imagination allows me is possible. That’s not a valid approach.”

“The burden of proof is on you,” Loeb says. You can’t just say it’s new physics because [you] have incomplete data.”

“You have to demonstrate that this object is moving in ways that we cannot explain using known physics. And then you might be able to consider new physics.”

Loeb says that in their recent paper, he and Dr. Kirpatrick worked to establish characteristics that would be associated with highly maneuverable instances of UAP based on known physics.

...

Loeb and Kirkpatrick argue that calculations resulting in objects exceeding transonic and supersonic ranges should be checked against the known physics of phenomena that include ionization, which dictates that luminosity would be present around objects moving at such speeds through Earth’s atmosphere. Similar reliance on the known physics of temperature, sound (i.e. sonic booms produced by fast-moving objects), radar reflectivity, and other phenomena should be given equal consideration, all of which, the authors say, “can more effectively and accurately bound the velocity, and hence drive the range calculation.”

Isn't aerodynamics (fluid dynamics) part of physics?

A right turn at 1,000 mph in a craft with no control surfaces or heat signature might be a violation of the laws of fluid dynamics/aerodynamics as we currently understand them.

An object in motion in a electric -field or magnetic field can instantaneously “flip” while maintaining constant momentum/velocity.. Viz.

What kind of object would be as big as an F/A-18, be in the sky alongside F/A-18s, and “flip” or make a right-angle turn at 1000 mph?

Just read that. Interesting.

Some folks (Lue Elizondo for one) have suggested that we are seeing something that is moving between two dimensions.

Not sure how current physics would account for such, but there are observations that would fit nicely into that scenario (like beings that appear to walk through walls or windows).

An Air force major, a B47 pilot, whom I knew very well, told me he saw a UFO silver shiny saucer in a vertical dive, buzz a B47 flying north in 1957 at low altitude, execute a 90 degree turn over the tail, fly from tail to over the canopy, and exit at 3000+ mph due north at 500 feet off the ground. He said the saucer was flying at a ~30 degree angle, not level, when it exited the area of view. He had binoculars on it all the way. He said it never slowed down from the dive.

He told me the saucer was about 30 feet wide and 4 feet thick in the middle and the thick middle part was not a smooth surface but rough, mottled. He was trained Air Force bomber pilot. He knew how to memorize details of any aircraft he saw.
