A meatball could be very controversial.

Does meatloaf count?

Quaker Oats Meatloaf Recipe

1 cup tomato juice
3/4 cup Quaker Oats
1 . egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

In large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix lightly but thoroughly. Press meatloaf mixture into 8-by-4-inch loaf pan.

LOVE meatballs.

My Italian MIL made the best meatballs ever - using three different kinds of meat. No recipe, of course, and however she made them went with her to the grave.

Oh boy! As if the ukraine/vax/EV/Catholic-Protestant threads weren’t hotbeds of grievance, discord, and schism you had to go and post this.

Don’t forget flavorful Mexican Albondigas (meatball) Soup!

Albondigas Soup

1 white onion, chopped
2 bunches green onions, chopped

Saute in olive oil in a large pot. Add:

1-7 oz can chopped green chilies, mild to hot
1 large can broken tomatoes, fire roasted are good
1 tsp fresh garlic
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
2.5 quarts water

Add to pot and bring to boil. Then mix:

1 pound lean hamburger
2 eggs
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper and garlic powder

Mix together, then form into one-inch
balls, added one at a time to boiling
soup.

Turn heat to low and simmer, covered.
Cook 45 minutes, then adjust seasonings.

A little fresh chopped cilantro on each serving.
(Mexican cooks tend to really overdo with the
cilantro.) 2 bunches green onions, chopped.

NOTES: there are LOTS of albondigas recipes out there, mostly adding various vegetables. This is a basic recipe without all that extra stuff. It’s great for when it is cold out.
