On top of Spaghetti!
All Covered with cheese.
I lost my poor Meatball,
When somebody sneezed......................
A meatball could be very controversial.
Hold on to your meatballs,
And don’t ever sneeze...
Well!
I’m just gonna have to thaw some meatballs and prepare something with them!
Does meatloaf count?
Quaker Oats Meatloaf Recipe
1 1/2 lb lean hamburger
1 cup tomato juice
3/4 cup Quaker Oats
1 . egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
In large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix lightly but thoroughly. Press meatloaf mixture into 8-by-4-inch loaf pan.
Bake 1 hour or until thermometer inserted into center of meatloaf registers (160 degrees F).
Let meatloaf stand 5 minutes; drain any juices before slicing.
Lol! We used to sing songs like that in school- rings back memories lol
Wish i could still eat garlic and tomato sauce, as garlic bread would go great meatballs and sauce. We used to eat the meatballs without any pasta as a meal- and had an ice cold glass of milk and the garlic bread, made just right. One fo our favorite meals
LOVE meatballs.
My Italian MIL made the best meatballs ever - using three different kinds of meat. No recipe, of course, and however she made them went with her to the grave.
Looks like my mother’s old recipe - she’d cover the top in catsup, and sometimes use day old bread instead of oats.
Depression comfort food. Some of the best in the world. Made delicious sandwiches the next day.
Oh boy! As if the ukraine/vax/EV/Catholic-Protestant threads weren’t hotbeds of grievance, discord, and schism you had to go and post this.
Meatloaf is just a larger out of shape meatball lol. My mother used to make an onion sauce and cover the top with it. It was delicious. The onion sauce was also great on most anything, pork, hotdogs, chicken, ribs, even steaks. It was very similar to Flo’s hotdogs sauce, but sweeter, as it was made with Vidalia onions. Wish i had the recipe as it would make a million dollars or more and compete and even beat Flo’s hotdogs sauce
(Flo’s hotdogs are a new England favorite “secret recipe” that has made her and now her surviving family very rich- people from all over the world really stop there for the experience. It’s just a small shack with a ceiling so low you almost gotta duck- she served them with mayo, celery salt, the sauce, and onions on top.we used to really love them until my mom found a recipe for onion sauce- )
We used to love it when we got cold meatloaf sandwiches to take to school for lunch. Hard to believe though that we didn’t get sick from leaving the food at room temp for hours before eating it at lunch.
Everyone loves meatballs!..............
No, it's going to turn into this whole thing about spaghetti vs grinders, Italian vs Swedish, and descend into madness. Madness, I tell you.
My MILmade the best meatloaf, and it’s very different than the one with ketchup and oats, like my mother made. She used Worcestershire sauce in hers. I begged her for the recipe, and the best I got out of her was taking notes while watching her make it. Instead of a measurement though, she would say, you need a good bit of this or that. So it’s something you have to do with your eyes telling you it looks right. It took me 25 years to get her meatloaf recipe right. Someday I’ll need to try to measure out all the ingredients, so that I can pass it down to our kids.
