I gave Picard season 3 a try on the Drinker’s recommendation.
I never saw Diversity nor the first two seasons of Picard.
But, so far, it’s not bad, at least here at 3 episodes in. There’s still plenty of time to screw it up before the end of the season though. Worf steals the show once he shows up.
I assume they wrapped the season before showing the first one, and I’m guessing Picard either dies or goes on to live happily ever after. Stewart is barely able to pull the character off at his current age, and it’s just going to get worse if he tries. But the rest of the characters could go on to something else.
I never liked Picard as a character so I never bothered with it. He just grated for some reason and is probably why I never liked TNG.
I saw a recent interview with Stewart. He sounded the same as ever, so I’d happily view more ST from him.
Back in the day, I could never miss a TNG episode. The others were good, but never competed for my time. I liked Janeway and Sisko, but STD came to the scene after I stored my TV in the attic. ‘Sounds like something to skip!
Stewart struggles a bit at his age yet shines at other times. They killed Picard in season one. He was reborn as an android and it’s that version we see in two and three. Seriously. Seasons one and two was a mess. Three is OK so far but remixing too much wrath of khan elements.
