An apparent 40% reduction in dementia for those who supplemented with Vitamin D.

After evaluating sources, I try to get between 3,000 and 3,500 IU a day. I used to take fairly more, but more recent studies, and a general reduction in the Upper Tolerable Limit, made me settle for that range, which reduces negative issues.

This is not a controlled study that will allow you to make inferences about causation.

Just because some groups do more of one thing doesn’t mean it causes any outcome. Example - people with arthritis take more aspirin. You can’t conclude that it’s the aspirin causing the dementia.

BTW recent studies in the New England Journal found no effect of supplement of Vitamin D in terms of osteoporosis or colon cancer. That’s in the general population. There may be some people for whom it is beneficial. It can’t hurt.

I put my Aunt on a Vitamin D regimen years ago when she was starting to have confusion issues. I do believe it improved her condition to a degree and she did very well, it also was great for her health as never got sick and we both avoided taking the Covid-19 Vaccines and never got sick.

I suspect that higher blood levels of D3 will be more acceptable to clinicians as more and more benefits from higher intakes are discovered.

Important to take additional K2 and Mg, as these activate the hormone (it's not really a vitamin) and direct it to move Ca to the bones instead of the arteries.

Drinking beer every day could ward off dementia
https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/health/drinking-beer-every-day-could-28090935

When compared to abstainers, occasional and light to moderate drinkers were 22% less likely to develop the condition.

And those who consumed up to two-and-a-half pints a day had a 38% reduced risk of being diagnosed compared to non-drinkers. Even the biggest drinkers were 19% less likely to be a dementia sufferer than those who didn’t consume alcohol.

When the researchers probed deeper into the association, drinking 40g of ethanol per day, the equivalent to five units, was linked with a lower risk of dementia compared to those who had never had a tipple.

I guess Biden’s time in the basement deprived him of sunlight which lowered his Vitamin D levels and made him a walking vegetable...
