No property taxes once you hit 10 kids. Reduction for 4.

Texas is the best and will always be the best because elite minds, like the one who crafted this legislation, will always choose to live here.

For those who are working, especially when both do in a marriage and/or have good incomes, I think the income tax savings is greater than the property tax costs. This is particularly true when compared to most any leftist state (CA, NY, IL, NY, MA, ...).\

For retirees, this appears to be reverse. Most don't make enough non-SS income to generate the large state income tax bills that they do when working. This is where the property taxes in Texas are a bit painful. There are some adjustments made for homeowners 65+, like locking in property tax rates once they hit 65, but many are still complaining about rising property tax bills.

The 15 passenger van will make a comeback. I hope it will be electric. You know, saving the planet and all.

Re-reading my post, I think I muddled up my points.

In short, workers in high income tax states generally have a bigger issue with state income taxes than their counterparts do with property taxes in states like TX. On the other hand, retirees tend to have less of an issue with state income taxes, especially if SS makes up a good portion of their income, than their counterparts do with property taxes in states like TX.

Sorry, I don't like it. We have too much social engineering through the tax code already. Why should people with 9 children pay taxes to pick up for those who hit ten? And how many people does this affect? Even the big Catholic families when I was a kid topped out around 7.

If the state wants to reduce taxes then take off a couple percent across the board rather than picking and choosing who gets a 100% reduction.

it actually is…10% for one, 20% for two…100% for 10…I see that perhaps I mischaracterized it

All taxation leads to some type of social engineering. It sends a message as to what is good and what is bad…making babies is good.
