A report earlier Wednesday indicated Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter was present at teammate’s fatal crash and misled police about it. Now, comes word from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department that it has issued an arrest warrant for Carter for reckless driving and racing.

“As a result of the ongoing investigation into the January 15, 2023, fatal crash that occurred in the 900 block Barnett Shoals Road, the Athens Clarke-Country Police Department has secured arrest warrants for Jalen Carter, 21, for Reckless Driving and Racing,” the statement reads. “The investigation found that Chandler LeCroy, driver of the 2021 Ford Expedition, and Jalen Carter, driver of a 2021 Jeep Trackhawk, were operating their vehicles in a manner consistent with racing shortly after leaving the downtown Athens area at about 2:30 a.m. The evidence demonstrated that both vehicles switched between lanes, drove in the center turn lane, drove in opposite lanes of travel, overtook other motorists and drove at high rates of speed in an apparent attempt to outdistance each other. Evidence indicated that shortly before the crash the Expedition was traveling at about 104 mph.

I guess the Steelers learned their lesson and didn’t pass up on the Pitt quarterback this time around.

Here’s a tip: Don’t talk to cops, especially if you plan to lie or committed a crime. And even if you “didn’t do nothing” still don’t talk to them.

College athletes are paid now via endorsements, etc. They can easily afford a 100k car, especially Jalen. He would have been the #1 pick in the draft.

Why was she racing? Was it her vehicle?

Too many people think they are in a Fast and Furious movie.

Just two more examples of high performance cars with low performance drivers.

I take it you haven’t heard of “NIL”. There are some players making over a $1 Million a season, all above board with new rules.

And it’s killing college football.

Maybe he didn’t stick around to get tested. The arrest warrants just went out.

This is the part I did not see earlier that she was driving the other vehicle, so the other teammate was riding with her then. Said she was on staff so why was she hanging out with the players and engaging is this behavior. Was alcohol involved, Along with total immaturity?

This compared with Brandon Miller at Alabama, regardless of what he did or didn’t do ,he was there and involved and should have been charged under the Felony Murder Rule or something else.

It’s not good for sure. I find the transfer portal even worse than the NIL.

How does a 21 year old “student athlete” afford a Trackhawk?

Neither of the backseat passengers in LaCroy’s vehicle were wearing seatbelts. One was ejected and died. The other was seriously injured.

It’s no different than the NFL, just rooting for laundry now.

There was nothing illegal Miller did. Having a gun in Alabama is protected by constitutional carry, and it wasn’t even his gun, he just gave it back to the owner that had left it in his car.

Some of you people really hate the 2nd amendment.

Actually it’s worse than the NFL, because at least in the NFL you can tie up a player for a few years with a contract. There is no such obligation for any college player, if he doesn’t like it, they can go wherever they want.

Look upon the felony murder rule, this has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment.

Probably just dumb and drunk.

Bio says she was doing post-grad work. A couple of years after graduation, and a net worth listed at $800K.

I think the fact that he hasn’t been charged with anything speaks to my side of this argument.
