A woman died at the scene while another man died at the hospital. The other 11 victims were taken to three different hospitals in the Valley.
All the victims were adults, but no other information was released about their ages or conditions.
Police say the driver of the pickup stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. It's unknown if speed or impairment played a factor.

How does one NOT SEE 13 RIDERS!?
9W along the Hudson in NJ is apparently a heavily used bike road. Among the bikers that use it there are a LOT vicious angry assholes, especially when there is a large group like this. They will go out of their way to discommode drivers and flip them the bird while they do it. Amazed the hell out of me how nasty they were without any provocation.
If the driver stayed it means that he or she has a sense of right and wrong. I’m going to take a guess and say the driver was old and probably shouldn’t have been driving.
If this occurred where I think it did, I don’t see how 13 bicyclist could ride on that highway without causing a hazard.
Very sad if they were riding in single file but if they were 2 or more abreast.... well, what’s for dinner?
Sounds like someone on meth didn’t like yuppies on bikes.
I liked the video of a trooper saving a kitty on the highway median better...........

How about letting bikers ride against traffic so they can see what’s coming at them. I always used to do that when I was a kid - of course back then there was a lot less traffic and a lot more civility.
