I present this for your consideration. I am still trying to digest this new information myself but thought those of you who have been following this revival might be interested.
This podcaster's point is quite simple and that is that several student groups who played important leadership roles at the Asbury revival self-identify as LGBTQ. He makes his argument for these conclusions.
The "self-identification" as gay is the problem. They're not identifying as formerly gay people who have repented, but as a group of (currently?) gay people. This podcaster accuses these gay groups of trying to insinuate themselves into the revival as a means of increasing tolerance for LBGTQ.
I'll let you draw your own conclusions about the rest.
All that said, I thought this was surprising if not shocking. It certainly threatens to taint what was a glorious event.
Actually no, Christian. It is just a practice that felt right to me. When I refer the the Trinity has a whole I typically that construction use my writings.
It is more for me to remind me to be reverent in what I may write. Also gives a wonderful way to search my writing when I write on the subject.
Though not 100%.
Chasidic Jews, AKA Ultra-Orthodox Jews, write G-d because the Jewish name for Hashem (Hebrew word for G-d, means the Name) is holy, and was only spoken in the Temple one day per year.
Interesting.
In a nation starving for God, we are warned to not go running to every whim that tells us He is here or there.
This is not to disparage or cast doubt, but to call upon wisdom. In the last days many will seek Him, but instead be led astray by potential revival events.
I have listened to a few pastors this week questioning what was happening at the college. Questioning and rightly saying ...I don’t know.

I assumed the jackals would come out to try and attack the Asbury event.
Sad that the internet lets wacky people spread this misinformation .

Anyone who has followed this this revival can see its genuine.
Go read the social media posts of hundreds of people WHO WERE THERE and described what they saw and experienced.
That’s the record.
Or the family member who has been a part of it from day one.
But all it takes is a “podcaster” to spew out some nonsense, and all of sudden that person has followers.

Not I. It was creepy-cultish from the get-go for me. But hooray for America where people have choices when it comes to religion.

It was very Biblical what has been going on.
But our traditions have made Christianity steeped in man made tradition and corporate worship, so this seems odd to many of us , including me.
The proof is in changed lives and repentance going forward.
And this is a historical part of Christianity.
It’s happened many times in the past.
As a preacher’s kid and seminary student, I’ve been involved in MANY revivals. This one seemed “off” to me. But each to his own, and free will dictates how someone expresses his religion. I respect that.

But I respect your background and what you have seen in the past .

We don't need people telling us that free speech is a bad thing. We have Marxists for that.
Obviously, there are people right here on FR who are skeptical about Asbury. That doesn't mean it's not real. It just means that some people are more discerning.

So is adultery a sin, or having sex of any kind outside of marriage. Do you want to kick all of those sinners out of the church? You don’t have to approve of their life style or even be their friend. I am pretty sure that there a lot of Gays who are born that way. My husband had at least four gay cousins. It caused a lot of pain and anger in their families and sorrow when the youngest died.
As you said, his claims may be "nonsense."
You are absolutely misrepresenting what I said.
If you want to know what Scripture says about those in leadership positions in then church and moral character, read 1 Timothy and Titus where Paul gives the qualifications for deacon and elder.
And Jesus told sinners to go and sin no more.
Your argument is with Scripture, God’s word.

Not true at all.
People are free to listen to what they want.
What I am saying is that no matter the topic, there will be some “expert “ ready to fire away and try to tear down anything .
I would suggest instead that people read the hundreds of first hand accounts of people who were there and what they experienced.
That’s the factual record and it’s an amazing one.
And yes people with less than stellar motives will try to attach theirselves to what has been going on.

No I haven’t .
I started following 2 new FB groups when it started.
They each had a flood of first hand accounts.
Very genuine and positive comments about what they experienced .
