I present this for your consideration. I am still trying to digest this new information myself but thought those of you who have been following this revival might be interested.
This podcaster's point is quite simple and that is that several student groups who played important leadership roles at the Asbury revival self-identify as LGBTQ. He makes his argument for these conclusions.
The "self-identification" as gay is the problem. They're not identifying as formerly gay people who have repented, but as a group of (currently?) gay people. This podcaster accuses these gay groups of trying to insinuate themselves into the revival as a means of increasing tolerance for LBGTQ.
I'll let you draw your own conclusions about the rest.
All that said, I thought this was surprising if not shocking. It certainly threatens to taint what was a glorious event.
One reason the United Methodist Church failed is that it bent to the emotional fervors of the times, such as feminism, sexual sin, “Journey to Emmaeus” hippie workshops, etc., instead of stressing a study of 1) the Word of God in the Bible, 2) John Wesley’s writings and 3) Wesley’s holiness movement.
Since even before WW2, the Methodist Episcopal church root that would become the UMC had already become a tool of its foreign missionaries bringing back communist “Liberation Theology” via its tithe-funded missionaries to South America and Africa. In the “swingin’ Sixties”, many Methodist seminaries went wild, while many of its traditional Bible-believers left the UMC as it became just another proponent of whatever current Democrat platform.
As funds dried up because of the outflow from the pews, Methodist hospitals, universities and old-age homes were sold off. Now the UMC is a shadow of early Methodism’s intended function: cradle-to-grave support for methodical learning of the Word and methodical extinguishing of personal sins—to allow room for the true Spirit to enter and flourish—”less of me, and more of Thee.”
I have grave concerns that the reconstituted Global Methodist Church will be able to pull up, given that it will continue to ordain women as pastors and bishops.

My neighbor was over this morning discussing how bad things have become in her Presbyterian church. Lesbians getting married was one of her issues.

Yeah, because they realize that if that continues, there won’t be any more “gay people” in 50 years, since they’ll all be forcibly transitioned before adulthood. So that’s just self-preservation kicking in.

I’ve heard the famous Azusa Street Revival had some demonic manifestations. God used it tremendously still.

Yes, many of the old mainlines have already split. There is the liberal PCUSA (Presbyterian Church USA) vs the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America), which is trying to hold the line.
Same with the Lutherans — the increasingly scary-left ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) vs the conservative, Bible-believing, catechism-studying LCMS (Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod).
LGBT-promoting ECUSA (Episcopal Church USA) vs the traditional ACA (Anglican Church in America), etc.
Lots of fights over properties, pensions, etc., but worth it to those who want their lives to reflect God’s Word, instead of rebellion against it.
But that's not the question here. The question here is: are the gays at Asbury trying to effect a hostile takeover like they did with the United Methodist Church or the Vatican.
The letters to the seven churches in Revelation disproves your statement.
I still say that the message was to many individuals within the church.
Except for the complicating factor that homosexuality is a sin according to God and is a matter of choice of behavior, whereas, skin color is what we are born with, which nobody has any say over, and is not something God condemns others for having as sin.
Trying to compare them is comparing apples to oranges.
It would not surprise me. When God moves, Satan is always following in His heels.

A pastor (southern Baptist, I think) who preaches “feel good” theology.
