Remake Gone With The Wind, Remake Casablanca, Remake Exodus, but this makes no sense................
They “need” to be remade to add gay and trans themes and insert black characters all over the storyline.
I think I’ll enjoy my set of (inherited) books from the late 50s and leave it at that.
RE: Fans Rebel Against New ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Movies Announced By Warner Bros.
Any Lord of the Rings Production that hasn’t gone through the approval of J.R.R. Tolkien himself is suspect.
No reason to remake it unless you want a chance to let the woke crap all over it the way they do everything they touch.
Their is plenty of source material too that a reboot simply makes no sense from that aspect either.
More than likely some beancounter drone thinks they can pull the handle on the slot machine and win two in a row.
The 3 movies are some of the best movies ever made. The first one being a bit slow though. #2 and #3 were amazing.
There is no need for a remake/reboot. It’s just a waste of money. But I thought they were going to just tell another story about middle earth. Like a prequel or sidequest.
Those three films are excellent representations of some of the greatest literature of the English language. They are the only films beside the original Star Wars that I have ever waited in line to see.
I highly recommend watching them on as large a screen as possible.
We have recently started re-watching them. We’ve split them up and are watching each film in two parts (they’re very long).
I suspect what they are intending to do is do prequils based on other characters and the history of middle earth before the Rings trilogy.
In my humble opinion, the LOTR trilogy is the best ever created and the cinematology unequaled.
They need to stop remaking stuff.
However, I see what could be happening. Remake all the good stuff to be woke and PC and the disappear the classic stuff so there is no history of it.
Then there will be an entire generation which has no idea of what they lost.
How 1984 of them.
I love LOTR. The books got me through some dark times in the VA hospitals.
The movies were good but they could have done 2 movies for each book of the trilogy.
Now they see what a money making machine they could have and will pump out movies until people refuse to pay for them.
And worse yet, they will pollute them with their LGBTQ+ filth.
And all their other libtard crap.
I agree, they're the only novels I've ever read thru more than once.
I also saw they were going to bring back Brian Cranston as Walter White for a Breaking Bad sequel. The idea being that he really didn’t die. Some things should be left alone.
Laziness ... their writers have no functional ability for creativity or original thought.
That would concern me as well.
Will they make Bilbo the obligatory homosexual character? Maybe Legolas will have that honor?
Will we learn that Middle Earth Society was not friendly towards LGBT or racial minorities?
Amen!
Next up a rewrite of the Bible, to correct all the “mistakes” in the first one.
What JRR Tolkien needs is African-American hobbits, Hillbilly and redneck trolls and orcs, Native American elves, Gay dwarves, transvestite wizards, and a Sauron who has Trump’s hair.
I don't think they are going to just remake the films. That would be stupid. They will use the themes, and elements of the originals to tell new stories.
It will either be great (if they keep with the original themes) or (if they go woke) a very expensive boondoggle.
Either way is a sign of the complete lack of creativity, skill and imagination of todays Hollywood.
Christopher Tolkien was the reason the sequels took so long to be made. He controlled much of the rights . His death in 2020 unleashed Hollyweird upon Middle Earth. At least Disney didn’t get its hands on it.
Yep
