My wingman has his work cut out for him. That part about “the ignorant must be educated” will, and always has been, tough to get done. The bottom line problem is that they fight it. And it doesn’t matter what the field, profession, subject, discussion, etc. is. For many decades I’ve seen it in almost endless ways. Teaching someone a trade has always been a good example. People tend to hit a wall when they think they’ve got it figgered out.
There’s an old Frazz cartoon on the wall here at the shop: The little kid says “I hate homework. If I ever find a job where I don’t have to study at home, I’ll keep it the rest of my life.” And Frazz says: “yes, yes, you will.”
Whenever you visit a home that has no books on the wall you’ll know you’re surrounded by a dead-ender or flat-liner.
It falls to those of us who are willing to study the problem. Figger it out. And stand up to get it fixed. Percentage -wise we are a small group but we have to get it done.———semper fi
Now Trump is saying “17”. :-)
He visited DC 17 times.
I’m a bit of a hoarder when it comes to books.
Perhaps one of my proudest moments was when I walked in my daughters room to tell her dinner was ready and she looked up at me and said, “Dad, it’s like a movie in my head.” while reading a mystery novel....I knew then I’d never have to worry about her reading ever again....sigh, good times....
