Even as Tennessee Conservative, I wondered about the purpose of Festival, so I decided to ask yesterday. I was logged in as Melinda in TN, my original username since 2020. After thinking over the replies I received, I understand now when it starts. My problem is understanding 1) why anybody wants to hang around in a thread that is over when everybody else has moved on and 2) why some are told to go there while others aren't. I have also wondered about the purpose of slides. Why do some catch slack for off-topic comments and told to label them a "slide" while others talk off-topic all the time and nobody calls them out.
If it hadn't been for off-topics about Covid, I might have taken the vax. A lot of others and I might have taken the vax if we hadn't read the negatives about it in here. We learned about IVM and other technically not Q related topics.
Other than that, I'm good.
Now, to shine light on why I quit my Melinda in TN username, created Tennessee Conservative, and went back. I haven't been hiding. I mentioned a few times in here that my former username was Melinda in TN. I pm'd several when I left this group and told them about Melinda in TN.
I was still working when I was Melinda in TN. I started getting pm's warning me that FR was crawling with Feds and to be careful. Since there are no security methods to remove posts that you make that you shouldn't have and you can't edit, I decided to quit Melinda in TN. I didn't want to lose a good job of 40 years because some Fed or other jerk decided to contact my employer. After I retired, I returned as Tennessee Conservative to start over.
Well, I started noticing that opinions that don't agree with those of a select few are not allowed. Q was supposed to be about thinking for oneself, discussing different ideas, etc. but too many differing opinions are being shut down. I got tired of it. I want to hear all opinions. I respect all opinions. I don't want anybody shutting down anybody. As long as that keeps happening, I won't contribute here. I will occasionally lurk, like yesterday, but it won't be my "go to" place again. I have mostly moved on. So will others if this continues. In fact, there are a lot of good members that lurk here and would post if it weren't for the handful of control freaks that I mentioned.
BTW, I also have a "block list" of a few that I will not respond to. You know who you are. If you PM me and don't get a response, well, then you know. I don't dislike anybody in here and never have but I will not have what I believe dictated by a handful of people with control issues. For the rest, I'm open to PM's to discuss what we should be allowed to discuss in here.
