Trail Rated Jeeps are beefier than TRD Toyotas. But Toyota is still really good.

No way. Jeep slaps that trail rated badge on everything. Even their basic Cherokees. They’re not anywhere in the same class as a 4runner reliability or capability wise

I had a trail rated Jeep. Biggest piece of crap I’ve ever owned, I’ll never own another Jeep product.

You mean the jeeps where step one is to throw half of it away and buy robust aftermarket parts to make it more than mall rated?

For all of you Jeep skeptics, yes Jeeps have their quirks, but I've been a loyal owner for 30 + years. I had a 2014 Wrangler Rubicon, but in 2018 my wife and I had a little late in life surprise and needed something that would be a little easier to get a baby seat in and out of, so I went for a 2018 Cherokee Trailhawk.

In the fall of 2019, a big oak tree at the side of our property got tired and decided to lay down one night. It wasn't a dead tree, but I suspect a combination of excessively dry soil and and wind hitting it just the right way. It fell on my Cherokee, completely compressing the springs. None of the glass was broken or cracked, and in the interior there was a dent in the headliner about 2-3".

Long story short, my family could have been in the vehicle when that tree fell, and walked away completely uninjured.
