I thought Venice was supposed to be inundated due to the rising sea level generated by anthropogenic global warming.

I thought the rising seas were flooding Venice.
Weren’t they building seawalls to keep out the global warming sea level rise just a few years ago?
Given that Venice's canals are fed from the Adriatic Sea, I don't think you can blame the lack of rain or globull warming.
But you can blame a freakish combination of strong winds, a full moon, low tides, and unfavorable sea currents.
Oh, it’s that time of the decade where we are going to get “Venice is drying up” stories, eh?
I guess 5 more years until we get the “Venice is going to be swallowed by the sea” stories again.
Que Sera, Sera — because Climate Change.
Damn that Global Climate change. Now Venice has become the swamp its always been.
They’ve spent billions on keeping the sea out.
Guess this is the effect of Kerry selling is jet plane.
They should fix it while the water is low. put some hydraulic presses underneath.
Oh no globull warming is drying up Venice. Where is saint Greta Thurnberg. They need to build a church in her name so the water will come back.
I’d be standing on the edge of the Grand Canal, with my metal detector in hand....just waiting for the bottom to dry enough to walk on. Can you imagine the history (and bodies) you’d discover? We’re talking Phoenician, baby!
I am so confused. Are we supposed to root for or agains the icebergs melting?
Venice isn't in a lake, it's in a lagoon, a salt-water arm of the Adriatic sea.
The Venetian Lagoon (Italian: Laguna di Venezia; Venetian: Łaguna de Venesia) is an enclosed bay of the Adriatic Sea, in northern Italy, in which the city of Venice is situated. Its name in the Italian and Venetian languages, Laguna Veneta—cognate of Latin lacus, "lake"—has provided the English name for an enclosed, shallow embayment of salt water, a lagoon.
The lagoon is OPEN TO THE SEA.
Rainfall has NO EFFECT on the water levels in Venice (unless it's so severe that it changes the levels of the sea) because if the lagoon is low, the sea rushes in to fill it back up. And if the lagoon is over-full, it rushes out into the ocean.
This is nothing more that an unusually low tide (which is that you'd be told if you were sourcing a legitimate news source).
Maybe its a problem at the back end of some canals but i see vaporetti plying their way up and down unencumbered.
Check out Venice live cams...sure don’t look to be any problems...
Gondolas aren't rowed, they're stern skulled.

Does the NY Post not know where that water comes from?
There is NO CONNECTION between low tides in Venice and droughts on the mainland, but it is a convenient coincidence for the Watermelons to exploit against the gullible and the MMGW true-believers.
High and Low Tides in Venice
Many people know that Venice can be flooded.
But did you know that Venice can also be struck by extreme low tides?
Floodings are a natural phenomenon during which a particularly high tide, known as “acqua alta”, floods certain areas of the city for a couple of hours. The higher the tide, the more areas of the city will be affected.
Extreme low tides, known as “acqua bassa”, are also a natural phenomenon that occurs in Venice, usually in the wintertime.
What is the consequence of extremely low tides?
Low tides do not cause as many headaches as extremely high tides as they do not impact residents homes or shops. However, they do cause a problem, too.
The main issue with extremely low tides is the fact that boats can no longer navigate in a number of canals.
This means that ambulance or firefighters boats can no longer reach certain areas of the city. In case of emergency, that can be a serious problem!
How long does acqua bassa last?
Like the “acqua alta”, the “acqua bassa” last for few hours, the time for the tide to grow again. What are the different 'tide' heights?
Venice’s Tide Centre, the “Centro Previsioni e Segnalazioni Maree”, labels tides according to their height in regards to the average sea level.
The different categories and relative heights are:
Exceptional High Tide: Equal to or higher than +140How low were the tides in Venice in the past years?
Very High Tide : from +110 to +139
High Tide: from +80 to +109
Normal Tide: from – 5o to +79
Tide under the normal level: from -51 to -90
Exceptional low tides: Lower than -90
Since 2016, Venice witnessed a few low tides every year, in particular between December and January.
In 2016, the “acqua bassa” hit a record of – 66 cm below the average sea level. In 2017, -52 cm, and in 2018 again -65 cm.
More recently, tides were as low as -50cm in 2020 and -55cm at the end of January 2022...
...How low was the greatest acqua bassa ever recorded in Venice?
The lowest “acqua bassa” ever recorded in Venice was -121cm. It occurred on the 14th of February 1934.....
The record low tide was -121cm, which is -1.21 meters, which is minus 47.6 inches. Today's low tide was only -0.07m, -7cm, minus 2.8 inches. By Venetian standards, hardly worth mentioning.
This is how the lagoon looks during a real low tide:
Good time to build that extra room in the basement.
