An Alaska woman pleaded guilty to killing her "best friend" after a man she met online said he would pay her $9 million if she sent him photos and videos of her committing murder.
Denali Brehmer, 22, pleaded guilty Wednesday to first-degree murder in the June 2019 death of Cynthia Hoffman, the Alaska Department of Law said.
Hoffman, 19, died from a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Her body was dumped in the Eklutna River, about 27 miles northeast of Anchorage, court documents state.
The Anchorage District Attorney’s Office previously said that Brehmer, who was 18 at the time of the crime, started planning the murder after a man she met online told her that he would give her money in exchange for evidence of her killing someone.
Brehmer knew the man as "Tyler" and had begun a relationship with him, but authorities said he had catfished her and created a fake persona as a millionaire from Kansas. His real name is Darin Schilmiller from Indiana, authorities said.
Court documents state that Brehmer and Schilmiller started planning several crimes in exchange for money, including the "rape and murder of someone in Alaska."
Brehmer chose Hoffman as the victim and recruited four friends —Kayden McIntosh, Caleb Leyland, and two other unnamed juveniles — to help her, according to authorities. Brehmer told them they would get "substantial shares of money" for helping her kill Hoffman.

I suggest it is all of the above. When you have the President of the United States telling the people of the nation that to this day, white people enjoy watching lynchings of black people based on no evidence whatsoever other than his own racist past, you are looking at a nation that will not recover from his deliberate destruction without a major upheaval. I’ve come to the conclusion that God’s plan for the world advances along from a combination of organic and manufactured events.
And that, ultimately, what’s been going on for the last 150 years, is that the industrial revolution gave some economic and political power to the masses, and the old aristocracy have been trying to figure out a way to get all their power back ever since.
So the inventions of Edison, Ford, etc, which ignited the modern era, were organic events.
On the other hand, the effort to promote the idea that modern technology and science have rendered religion obsolete....and only backwards, ignorant, bigoted people still embrace religion, is an example of how these organic changes in society are then manipulated by the wealthy and powerful, to advance their freedom crushing agenda.
You can go down the list decade by decade...... Attacking the nuclear family leads to less family owned small businesses, which are the life blood of an independent middle class.
And while the attack on the nuclear family has been manipulated by the ruling class...by promoting premarital sex, feminism, homosexuality, etc, while attacking religion.....there’s also the organic event of rock n roll, sexual dancing, psychedelic drugs, birth control pills....which made it easier for the ruling class to push the sexual revolution.
So basically, the wealthy and the powerful sit in their walled mansions and assess organic events that are unfolding, and then make meticulous long term plans to manipulate these events.
The reason that everything is so awful now, is because they have gotten that much closer to reaching their goals. And if we look back from the 1960s to today, it was a long way down.
And when digital technology came along, you can be sure the ruling class were licking their chops over it’s potential to create a totalitarian surveillance State, which also brought out the worst in human nature, via snitch culture, and the vain desire for 15 minutes of fame.
That is very interesting theory and I suspect it is true. If you read the Bible and then follow history of man-kind since its writing, you can see the ebb and flow of decadence and then a total adherence to morality and obedience to God (both historically done by government dictates). However, with each wave the separation between the two become wider and wider apart.

This Indiana “catfish” should be charged with murder and exposed to the full sentence that applies in Alaska, have to imagine it’s not a slap on the fins up there.
