The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
If you need a clue ask the group to send you a letter to your private reply.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER

The President and Mrs. LDDFPKQZ were being shown around an experimental government farm. When she came to the chicken yard she noticed that a rooster was mating very frequently. She asked the attendant how often that happened and was told, “Dozens of times each day.” Mrs. Coolidge said, “Tell that to the President when he comes by.” Upon being told, LDDFPKQZ asked, “Same hen every time?” The reply was, “Oh no, Mr. President, a different hen every time.” LDDFPKQZ: “Tell that to Mrs. LDDFPKQZ!”
Google LDDFPKQZ Effect
Nice quote today and very true.
Proverbs 16:18 has this to say about the subject:
“Pride goes before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Easy puzzle today, but it makes no sense.
LOL, but what do you think the Bible would say about the “LDDFPKQZ Effect”? for if you truly love your spouse, the opposite is true.
Baldwin, it makes sense if you think of the difference in being QUZTI with humility vs. with arrogance.
Nice thought, but I don’t know. The last one we had that knew this was Jimmy Carter, and I don’t know if the knowledge benefited him or us much.
Somebody tell his wife!
You win the thread.
Incidentally, easiest one I’ve ever done.
Letter pattern gave me the first two words, grammar and letter pattern the third, that opened up the fourth, which opened up the fifth; and then I literally recognized words and point-and-clicked nonstop with no breaks or mistakes until the end, less than 1 min total.
As VP he stayed at a small hotel and a fire broke out. Everyone was ordered out of their rooms to evacuate.
He wanted to go back to his room when things calmed down. “Who are you?” the hotel employee asked. “The Vice President.”
“Oh, you can go on up.”
“Wait a minute, what are you Vice President of?”
“The United States.”
“Come back down here. I thought you were the Vice President of the Hotel.”
It’s in Paul Boller’s Presidential Anecdotes.
